Forums - Movies & TV - Apologize to Adam Sandler now!

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/uncut_gems

I first saw the Uncut Gems trailer when I went to watch the Joker movie (great movie btw.) However, the trailer kind of intrigue me and I decided to take a look at rotten tomatoes and apparently this movie is beloved by critics. Admittingly, I was skeptical about the movie because it has Adam Sandler, but it looks like he has a hit underneath his belt. Good job Adam Sandler and I have to apologize for underestimating you.

Just don't have him anywhere near the creative control of the movie and its fine. Drunk Punch Love is another good movie with Sandler in it.

I mean, this isn't an Adam Sandler movie. It is a Safdie Brothers movie. I don't think anyone is particularly surprised that it is good.

After decades of doing some of the worst movies ever he finally made a good one, his good to bad ratio is like 20 to 1.

I haven't seen this movie but yeah, Punch-Drunk Love and The Meyerowitz Stories were good films. My default is: "Adam Sandler is on it? Then I need more reasons to watch that movie." because his movies are awful.

He turned down a chance to act in a Tarantino movie so he will never have my full respect no matter what he does.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

There are a lot of movies that he's done I actually enjoy. Some of my favorite comedies ever are ones he starred in: Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, Mr. Deeds, The Longest Yard, Click, Grown Ups.

If Joaquin Phoenix loses the oscar to Adam Sandler, I'm not sure 'Joker' will be a work of fiction for long.

You have not even seen it for yourself yet. Just because critics love a movie does not mean it is actually good. I hate some films that were critical darlings. Thought they were awful.

Fuck you Adam sandler.

He was also fantastic in The Meyerowitz Stories, which is in itself a great film. I'd absolutely recommend it.

Alas, a couple of decent films dont excuse the really shitty ones, which is the majority of his films. A couple of which (like Jack and Jill)  I'd consider amongst the very worst of the year they came out. Not even "so bad theyre good" material.
