You have not even seen it for yourself yet. Just because critics love a movie does not mean it is actually good. I hate some films that were critical darlings. Thought they were awful.

Out of curiosity, do you have any examples?

Gravity is one of those movies for me.

Highly rated, but it was a movie I didn't care for watching.  Though, maybe if I rewatched it now, I might change my mind.

Now, this I agree with.

Gravity was real pretty to look at, but I didn't care about any of the characters. I also found the decision to convey the vast emptiness of space by blaring classical music a little puzzling.

There's an anime called Planetes which did the whole "helplessness in space" thing real well and had characters that I loved. Now that is something I need to watch again.

The Godfather trilogy.

I just could not get into it no matter how many times I tried. I always fall asleep during the meetings.

Haaa. Made me think of this bit. Multiple attempts to watch.... Even the meetings are addressed.

I've never seen them.

I dont understand why he has this stigma of him only being in bad movies....
Alot of them are mediocre... and a few are bad.

People forget the good stuff he's done though:
Hotel Tranylvania
50 First Dates
Anger Management
Punch Drunk Love
The Wedding Singer

Its not all bad.

Highly rated but so damn borning, I could barely sit through it.
It looked pretty, and well done but... story wise? meh.
