Sony Xperia XA. Cost me £80 from O2s 'Like New', served me well and unless it breaks, I see no reason to get a new one. It runs the apps, makes the calls and sends the texts.

Blackberry key2, best smartphone/device i have used by far.
right now xiaomi redmi note 5, it's a nice device nothing special, got it almost free after selling my redmi note 3 pro. redmi note 3 pro on the other hand, for it's release time and price was a real beast. before that I had a nexus 5 which was stolen, got used to that stock android feel. so all my phones now run only aosp roms.

Yep this is exactly the problem. Sadly for though the big phones sell way better so I doubt we’ll see a smaller iPhone ever again. My 8 is barely okay in size, but like I said, the 5 (and SE) were a tad better. |
I used to share this thinking. But, my lifestyle changed a bit, to find myself doing a lot of walking. I upgraded to a larger phone specifically because reading text on this site while walking was difficult on the small screen. I got used to it quick, and though I would still prefer a smaller device in my pocket, the benefits of the larger screen and the larger battery that usually comes along with that, far outweigh the negatives.

It went similarly for me. My first smartphone was a Samsung S3 mini, and when that one broke I used a cellphone for a couple years because I couldn't find such a nice, small phone anymore.
However, I'm not sure I would want such a small phone anymore these days. Apps are programmed with larger screens in mind, and tend to get hard to decipher on a small screen, as my cousin could attest on her 4.5 inch old Smartphone.

I'm really close to just buying another brand new SE. I don't need my phone to be able to do do more than simple tasks. I use to get almost 2 full days out of 1 charge with my SE, with the way that i use it.
I don't have a phone. But I do have an iPad Pro (which is actually useful for me).
If you have something important enough to say to me, you'll find me other ways.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Ah, a fellow BLUfer. I had the Life One X as well. No complaints other than the battery, like you said. Still wasn't the worst battery I've had on a phone, just kinda in the average zone. Sadly, after about a year or so, the mic died on me. Then, I got a good deal on an Alcatel Idol 4s, like $220 for the phone and VR headset. Loved the dual speakers and sharp display. But, the battery crapped out on me in a year or so. Got the Vivo + and have been very satisfied with it. |
BLU da ba dee da ba daa, lol. Ya the battery is average, it's just the inconsistency with some crappy updates from time to time that I haven't had with previous smartphones. Most of the time it's acceptable though. I've read good things about the Vivo series. It'll be a model I look at when upgrading eventually if it's still around by then. BLU seems to be a pretty decent value brand overall. After getting mine a buddy who goes through phones like socks bought one of the BLU Studio models and was happy enough with it back then that they bought the 2018 Studio Mega when it came out and liked it as well.
OnePlus 6. Funny enough I got it around a month ago this time last year. So my phone just recently had its first-year anniversary.
