They were talking about the whole state of Texas.

Treu Texas does have more Latino voters but Biden has just under 1/4th of the Latino vote and 60% of the Black vote that it might even out.

I'm getting 45% Latino vote for Sanders.  Let's math it up.

Texas Population: 29 million

Black population: 11.9% of 29 million = 3.45 million
Latino population: 38.3% of 29 million = 11.1 million

Black vote: 60% of 3.45 million = 2.07 million
Latino vote: 45% of 11.1 million = 4.99 million

2.07 million is about 40% of 4.99 million.

https://www.cnn.com/election/2020/state/texas?xid=ec_flip_hz_texas_d

Black vote is 21% and Latino vote is 31% of the Democratic primary in TX.

Bleh.. Looks like it's pretty likely going to be Biden now. Well so much for student loan forgiveness or likely even partial forgiveness. :/. Looks like I'll be in debt for the next 50 years. Sweet. But I guess it's my own fault for making the investment, just wish I was wiser in my early 20s than now in my early 30s.

And of course there's the good 'ol status quo. More wars, corruption, Authoritarianism, corporate greed, dialing back of social benefits, etc. That will be true whether it's Trump or Biden in office.

I'm just done fam. I refuse to vote for Neolib/Neocon Joe Biden. Think I'm just going 100% third party from now on.

I'll hold on hope until the DNC at least. If the picture's grim then, then at least I hope Trump gets reelected. The mod-dems really need to get hit by a ringing brass bell in their eardrums to get the message that centrism was crippled, emaciated and incinerated and its ashes scattered to the wind.

See? Younger voters will always let you down, and there are no closet socialists everywhere. Not now, not in the general elections.

Bernie or Bust strikes again.

Honestly, the left in the US are victims of themselves. You're so far brainwashed by the Bernie Cult youtube and social media propaganda that you can't even see how obvious it is that Biden is leagues better than Trump.

You've got some nerve calling me brainwashed. I'm about the most open minded person you'll meet bud. I spend dozens of hours listening to speeches and lectures, reading comments, and digesting information from a myriad of different perspectives and sources, and reach my own conclusions. I have a degree in history and have also studied sociology and political science. I'd wager that's more than many could say, who have their information spoon fed for them and don't seem to use critical thinking. There were MULTIPLE candidates this cycle I'd have likely supported beyond Bernie - Tulsi, Yang, and Williamson for starters. And I don't even see eye to eye w/Bernie 100%, it's just he's the closest aligned to me that actually has a chance. Not that I need to justify myself to you.

That's also rich coming from someone who I assume marches in lockstep with everything the Democrats do and gets behind every sellout candidate they push to the forefront no matter how much of a shady record they have, voting, policy, or otherwise. If you want to talk cult-like traits, well, attacking or shaming people who dare venture outside of these group think organizations is a pretty big one, especially when these organizations throw up some lead figure who you're just automatically supposed to support with no questions asked. Maybe look in the mirror. And while you're at it take another look at Biden. The guy has been on the wrong side of a slew of major issues over the decades. His voting record is closer to a Neocon than a liberal Democrat. Even Trump is against free trade agreements for gods sake and is probably less of a foreign interventionalist too. He's equal to Trump AT BEST. And to us here in the Midwest he's probably WORSE.

This bullshit is just a no win game and frankly I'm sick of playing. I don't owe the Democrats shit. Put up a candidate I can get behind, otherwise, no sale!

I don't get it. People should vote for someone, who doesn't give a shit about their situation and makes clear that they will not change anything in the life of the one voting? Why should people? It doesn't make any sense.

It is up to the candidate to convince voters with their policies and plans.

The idiots are the ones voting for people because they are 'nice' or 'electable' or ultimately 'in the right party'. In the end the politician will not make politics for these voters, because they exactly know that this voters will vote for them anyway. As long as they are nice. Or in the right party.

I know being a jackass is free but please control yourself.

No one is owed a vote. Not Sanders. Not Biden. Not Trump. Not Warren. They have to earn them.

I loathe Trump and dislike Biden but if people want to vote for them or not it's their right.

Anyone can see Biden is better than Trump but that's not enough for some folks to vote for him.

If you were just looking at the facts then you'd know a Biden nomination isn't going to cut it in the general. The facts suggest that running a centrist against a candidate that can very easily posture to the left of him on many issues like he did with Hillary in 2016 will cost us the presidency again.

Progressive ideas are popular. Nobody actually likes their insurance provider, they like their doctors and hospitals, M4A is popular because it does away with the unpopular aspects of healthcare and guarantees an expanded version of Medicare to everyone. Bernie is the most trusted on many issues but especially when it comes to healthcare.

Biden will do much better than Hillary in the general.

Hillary won the popular votes but couldn't bring out certain demographics in certain states to win.

This primary shows that Biden has been able to bring out Obama era African American support while not spending a lot. This will help him win Michigan and puts Georgia on the table. He's also been doing incredibly well in the suburbs putting PA, and FL on the table. Biden also has the ability to appeal towards conservative moderates putting WI, and possibly IA, and Ohio on the table.

Hillary is a snake and people dont like her. People know Biden is genuine and actually like him.

Electorally it's easy to make a case for Biden in comparison to Hillary.

Biden is the only candidate that has helped got a healthcare policy passed. People might not like their provider but people still like choices and options. Like Bernie Biden has Medicare for those that want it but if you want to keep what you have now you can. Most of the Democratic party can get behind Bidens plan and it's possible it can actually pass while Bernies plan not so much. Ya'll don't have to like Biden but don't act like he's not running on policies that you agree with.

I dislike Biden BECAUSE of his policies! I'm sure he's a nice dude but at the end of the day being nice doesn't mean shit if you're policies won't actually solve our problems bc they're half assed. A public option is not the way to go for various reasons, some of which are illustrated for you here. And what choices are you talking about??? There's no choice with Biden's plan just an illusion of choice.. your employer chooses for you, not you.

It doesn't seem your dozens of hours of listening to speeches and lectures, and "reading comments" digestion, or any of your American education has done you any favours in being able to think rationally. It's obvious that Biden is better than Trump whether you be a progressive (especially if you're a progressive), or just someone who wants a functional politician.

Also, you're accusing me of somehow being a Democratic Party in the US? Not only am I not from the US, I've never even been on the same continent. I'm a democratic socialist on the far left.

The only mistake I made was assuming you were a progressive/leftist in any way, or that you cared about the plights of others, or that you might have wanted some semblance of a sane and rational leadership. Clearly, that's not the case.

Civility is overrated.

This is a political forum on a video game website, not kindergarten.

And simply stating "Bernie or Bust" in more elaborate and non-denominational phrasing does not make it any less damaging to the progressive movement. While you don't have to vote, you absolutely should if you care about politics, it's foolish not to.
