Forums - Nintendo - Capcom did it again to Switch! :( [Resident Evil]

Remaster-port of old games is a scam. This is why my main platform of gaming is PC: buy a game only once, and 20 years later you can still play it better due to rig upgrade and mods. Consoles only for 1st party exclusives.

That is not always true lol. I recently learnt that with GTAIV.

Rpckstar were to lazy to program their games to recognise onboard and dedicated gpus (especially with laptops). They won't even patch it. So my Gaming laptop will run the game through an integrated video card instead of my dedicated Nvidia

Capcom makes it hard for me to actually get their games. I want to buy and play them, they make good games.

I don’t even care about the pricing, but then there’s all this digital only, half-download, only physical in a collection, region specific retail release crap.

I mean jeez just release the d*mn games normally!

Just highlighting the important bits lol

COMMON SENSE THOSE ARE AND ONE DAY IT MAY CLICK LOL.

Capcom will learn the hard way. As every other indie and most 3rd party developers are enjoying satisfying sales, these RE games will languish and no one will buy them.

Given how they used to be Nintendo exclusives, one would have hoped that Capcom knows and acknowledges the fans and the past of these particular titles. They will suffer through lack of sales as Nintendo fans now have plenty of options for excellent games that are not overpriced.

I would've bought Resident Evil 0 + 1 on a 32 GB card, with no complaints about the high price. I would've bought the games for 20 Euros each on the eShop with no complaints as these are remasters and I get if there is no retail release for such titles. But this? A 16 GB card does not even remotely justify that price increase.

Here Bayonetta 2 was sold at the same price as any single Nintendo game.

The difference here is they sold the game as Bayonetta 2, plus a bonus code to download 1.

This is Capcom calling it Resident Evil Origins Collection. A collection should contain the full content on the physical media. It leaves dangerous grounds here.

What is stopping EA from doing a FIFA Collection of every FIFA game ever made and all being digital but 1 lol

Would the full size game fit on a standard switch cartridge? A quick google shows it takes up 27 GB after install on the ps4. Has that changed for the switch?

It doesn't matter, there is a cart available. most people would pay the extra 10 to get the full game.We don't want broken physical games.

Or it could be only a loud minority willing to pay the extra $10 and the rest are fine with a partial download.

Unless they'll offer two versions of the game (one with all data on a big cartridge for $10 extras and one with a partial download on a smaller cartridge, but for $10 less) we'll never know.

Lol when the "partial download" on some of these releases is 70%, you may as well call it a digital release.

I agree, unfortunately there is no solid evidence what would happen in this scenario. However we can work with the best we got. When staff members tell you people cancel their preorder on games that require downloads and they had to start advertising it upfront so people knew what they were buying indicates that this is a problem to a fair few customers. Even the price drops you see on those are much quicker and greater than on full game. How big this issue? no one knows but enough to make stores change the way they advertise the games.
