Megaton for Switch owners. Maybe now they can play Rares Replay. Hope for the gamers this is true.

I wonder would Nintendo require you to buy their online pass in order to play gamepass. Could be a worthwhile trade off.

If they do this I believe the xbox will sell less as the exclusives will be available on Switch and pc.

That wouldnt bother a corparation like MS. Buiness is about where the money is, and the money is in the services/software not the hardware.

If GamePass earns 1m subs on Switch thats $12m a year the Xbox brand makes. Now multiply that by x2 and than by x4 and now add Xboxs own userbase of 1m subscribers and do the same. Add both results togother and do you see where the money is? Consoles wont make that sort of money. Infact for the first few years consoles are sold at a loss and there RND is in the billions.

This is why hardware sales dont mean much in the end. Not with online options we have these days.

The report specifically mentions Ori and the Blind Forest as a possibility for direct porting to Switch. Some other possibilities that might make sense for Switch imo:

-Rare Replay
-Battletoads
-Super Lucky's Tale (already rumored for Switch by another source)
-ReCore (developed by former Metroid Prime devs)
-Cuphead

Thats nuts.... why even own a xbox at this point then?
Its like MS doesnt care where you play their games anymore..... why not just go multi-plat then?

Whats next? Halo, gears, forza also on PS4?

Hm.. some games certainly are portable, like Ori and Cuphead, but lots of the games on Gamepass would need to be streamed to work on Switch and I'm pretty sure xCloud will have extra fees. On top of that Nintendo will probably want a cut of the revenue made on Switch. I guess it could be viable to offer the package at ~20$/€ a month, maybe a bit more for short term subs, which probably are the most enticing (buying a X1s and getting gamepass there could quickly be cheaper than going for a long term Switch sub).

No one can beat Playstation as the king of gaming so the competition has to team up together. lol

Seriously now this would be a very interesting step from Microsoft, what are their plans for the their next Xbox console?

In that case they could go full third-party.

The Ori developer a few months ago stated there would be Ori news "which will surprise the entire game industry".

That in hindsight looks like it was about this.

Oh damn! What a tease if all of this is true!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Remember when Nintendo was supposed to go “third party” a couple years ago.

Whew child how the times have changed.

There have been rumours kicking around about the nextBox/Switch 2 being some sort of joint venture. Still sounds like bullshit to me, but if this eventuates then those gain a lot more credence

How would the Game Pass work for Nintendo? Wouldn't it cannibalize their sales on their own platform?

You know it deserves the GOTY.
