Spiderman has strong sales figures, with digital sales maybe more than 340.000 alone in japan- i think. Could be (one of) the most successful game from the west in japan in the last years. And I'm really looking forward to the success of Red Dead Redemption 2 in the next weeks :) its very interesting.

Japan: Valkyria Chronicles 4 for PS4 (Leadplatform) - first week: 62,921 units. Valkyria Chronicles 4 for switch - first week: 5.596 units.

The Legend of Heroes-jrpg number 2, great :) edit: The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel I and II for PS4 coming west in early 2019 :)

Nice, Switch hardware has increased a little above baseline. Overall, nothing special. Some flops here and there and games that will drop off 90% next week. Same old same old.

Meh or decent for many titles beside Warriors PS4, which did great. Hardware went up by 5,000 each for the relevant devices, so that is good at least.

Seems that the Japanese consumer is treating Switch 3rd party games/ports like those of the Vita...that's not a good thing.

Or it takes time and traction to actually build consistent user base for specific audience that already exists elsewhere (Vita for example took awhile to build something where it was remotely healthy compared to the PS3, and it took PS4 awhile as well to create something healthy from PSVita success).

In terms of titles on the board I think DBZ Fighters did decently and will have legs for as an example. However TWEWY did flop and I don't know why it was made and who was the target audience for it and that includes in the West, I assume it was one of those cheap as heck things or I hope for Square it was. 

With that said, safe to assume Valkyria Chronicles is in the west hands if it will continue being strong franchise, because the total PS4+Switch Japan sales is just awful.

PS4 had almost 5 years to establish itself practically unopposed as the console of choice for those games, so Switch is facing an uphill battle there in any case. Additionally, those games tend to look better on the PS4, so probably this also plays into Sony's hands for them.
