Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Did Not Learn Anything from the Wii U's Failure.

I love it when someone doesn’t get the exact thing they want to see and has a hissy fit.

So none of the things you write really relate to your headline. You just appear to not like either of them.

Nintendo are doing everything differently from the Wii U, and they're not repeating the same mistakes so far. Whether that means they've learned something, however, is of course a different discussion. And it of course doesn't prevent them from making different mistakes.

Oh Gosh this thread made my day. that direct just showed us how much Nintendo has learned.

only NSMBU Deluxe will keep Switch going until April.

Switch!!!

Having a hard time telling if this is a troll thread or not...

But the fact is: There was more than 30 games showed in this direct. It revealed a new Luigi's Mansion (That Wii U never got), a new Animal Crossing (That Wii U never got), the console will also get the Metroid and Fire Emblem Wii U never got. It is also the first time since the Snes that main Final Fantasy games are hitting the Nintendo's main home console. It is also the first time a Nintendo home console has received massive support from Bethesda. It is also the first time a Katamari game hits a Nintendo console besides the creator being very loud in the past about his negative opinions over Nintendo. Switch already had become a better console than Wii U.

Just watched hte new direct a.d i was very dissapointed. Bought a Switch a few months ago and got some games from last year like ARMS, Splatoon 2 and MK8D. The only games i was looking forward to before the direct were Pokemon and Smash. Now the direct is over and im looking forward to Pokemon, Smash, Luigis Mansion and Animal Crossing. That's only two other games i'm excited for and thats honestly really sad. That would mean by the end of 2019 i would have only bought two Nintendo games in 2018 and two in 2019. I feel like the switch is showing early signs of being another Wii U. There is a lack of interesting games. I think that the Switch might be even worse than the Wii U because a lot of it's games and upcoming games are games i already have on the Wii U, boring indie games, and games that will run better on my Xbox One or PC.

I know saying the switch will fall off a cliff has become a meme but honestly a few months after Smash Bros comes out I expect Switch sales to drop off a lot because i'm expecting the big games like Metriod and Animal Crossing to be late 2019. I feel like early and mid 2019 will be as barren as early and mid 208 but the only reason the Switch has sold well in 2018 is because its still a new console but in 2019 the new console hype will die down and sales are going to drop unless Nintendo picks up the pace. They need to stop with the remasters, gimped third parties and give us interesting Nintendo games. The only reason a game like Octopath Traveler sold so well was because Nintendo had no games this year.

Honestly, this is the Dumbest thing I have read recently. Best you get educated quickly.  Also, ive bought, Doom, Wolfenstein, Celeste, Toads Treasure Tracker, Octopath, in the last few months, ive bought nothing in a year and a half for Xbox One and only Spiderman for the PS4 this year. But i Love all three consoles and none of them are going to fall off a cliff, Game releases can go through dry spells on any console, but the Switch is NOT having a dry spell at all.

I came in expecting this to be a necro or at the very worst a joke thread.... it's neither. Sad times.

@OP - No?

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

“Nintendo did not learn anything from the Wii U. Announcing in excess of 80 games including 9 Final Fantasy titles and Animal Crossing is NOT HOW YOU RESPECT MAH AUTHORITAH GODDAMMIT!!!!”

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It's funny how all of the people here are making fun of the op without having any points to contradict what he is saying.

That's because you are telling the truth about the current situation with the Switch and I completely agree with you.

Looks like I'm going to be a Switch owner after all.

His points are so ridiculous that people don't know if he is trolling or he is serious.

True about Switch is that Switch is totally opposite of Wii U, its very popular platform with plenty of games and much better support, and Switch 2019. already with just confirmed games looks very strong.

From some reason from Direct you are seems very salty. :)
