Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I'm not sure I can go back to Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate after playing World.

I just tried the demo for a few minutes. The landscapes feel barren. I feel like I'm standing in a vast empty field with one monster every fifty feet.  There are two second loading screens between each section of the map. These two things just make the game feel ancient in comparison to World.

But then again, there are hunter arts, and different classes, in addition to your weapons. There's more monsters in this one too. Using a Greatsword doesn't feel so slow in this one, like it did in World. And there's more choices when it comes to how to build your Hunter.

I don't think anybody can go back to handheld monster hunter anymore after playing world.

Is it better than Stardew Valley?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

World is a game changer for it..... speak with your wallet, dont buy the "Generations Ultimate" version,
let them see what people want is a new World 2 game instead.

So even though Ultimate is a bit more meaty with more monsters and gameplay options, you would pass because of it being visually weaker?

Easily said but 3 problems:

1, Capcom has more or less declared all their Switch games "tests" publicly, basically holding their library to ransom in order to try and bully Switch owners into buying the games they release by threatening to pull the franchise in question from the system in future

2, World lacks numerous features and monsters as the OP described, left out for no adequately explored reason so how do you send the message you want those back?

3, if someone wants a portable MonHun experience, this is the best there is by a mile sadly.  And the only opportunity really to show support for that.

There's "visually weaker" and then there's "looking like an extremely low effort remaster of a PS2 game with consrant loading times breaking up the flow".  Compared to Xenoblade 2, Skyrim special edition, Breath of the Wild, and Super mario Odyssey , not only does it look two gens behind, it runs no better (and in the case of Odyssey markedly worse) with smaller open areas.  It's not hard at all to understand how this release fails to impress.

What do you mean? OP doesn't mention the visuals?

Loading screens and vast empty fields are game design choices due to hardware limitations.

Again, it's Capcom's (and each developer's) job to make their games as irresistible and must-have as possible and get their clients to buy them, we have no obligation to show support, or buy stuff we don't like, in order to get more quality stuff.

If they want to leave money on the table, by all means let them.

PS: Especially in Capcom's case, where they show no signs of true effort, rather see the Switch as a ROM dumpster.

*On 3ds.  On Switch it's because Capcom couldn't be assed to put in more than the barest minimum ammount of effort.

I agree yes, world is just soo awesome, and its getting biggerand better with each update, the old mh feels empty, slow, ancient.
