I thought they had a good conference, the best Microsoft conference for years infact.
I’m gonna be truly honest, my heart sank when they announced they had bought Ninja Theory studio, ive always liked and supported the studio, they have always been the underdog studio that over achieved and has got massive potential.
Hellblade has been the standout game for me this gen, it took me and many others by suprise, a game developed by 20 people who had to get loans out to help fund the development. They created a character (Senua) who in my opinion is the most interesting unique gaming character for years and her journey was thought provoking, emotional and again completely unique. Sadly I won’t get to play any part two to her story because Microsoft buying them and turning them into a first party studio. I’m truly gutted.
I’m sure NT will develop something incredible now they have the resources of Microsoft backing them and if it’s a new Hellblade it’s foing to be something special.

Theres chance that they could make games for Both XBOX and Windows

Forza Horizon 4 is the only must have Xbox exclusive (also technically on PC, but not nearly as fun) from their conference for me, but I didn't have huge expectations to begin with. Cyberpunk is an obvious day one for me, regardless, I know that these guys can't go wrong. Fallout 76, it depends, if it has too much of an online focus and the regular looting/grinding bs that almost every title released today has, I may just skip a Fallout game on PC for the first time since the series started in the 90's.

Overall, MS had a decent show, it has become noticeably harder for the powerhouses to hold intriguing presentations than before since the publishers themselves steal so much time and limelight with their own booths and presentations in today's E3 format.

I gave it a 6/10 cause while absolutely NOT on the level of Sony as far as exclusives are concerned, they still had a few that I can see Xbox owners appreciate.

However and this is probably because I'm a non Xbox user, it felt to me that it is the same stuff over and over again: Forza, Gears, Halo, rinse and repeat...

With a couple of good ones like Ori and the Will of the Wisps and, let's see, oh yeah, a DLC for the brilliant Cuphead and that's it.

But the bulk of the good announcements was all multi-platform which is why while not too bad a conference it wasn't exceptional either so I'll be playing the ones I care for, off the top of my head: Dying Light 2 and CyberPunk 2077 on my PS4.

Also I got a bit confused by their tags just before each game trailers.

Exclusives: got it. World Premiere: Multi-plats shown on their conference for the first time, got it. Console Launch Exclusives? What the hell is that? Did they imply that a new Xbox is coming at the same time as these games will be released and these games are multi-plat but will launch first on that new Xbox system and later on other platforms? A bit confusing in my opinion.

I'd give it a 6/10. Utterly useless at selling Xbox Ones, but there was a good amount of games here. Though I have no idea why Microsoft filled up so much of their conference with multiplats with only around 5 or 6 exclusives (including the usual Halo/Gears/Forza). Also, this conference really needed more gameplay rather than cinematics. Still a quantum leap above EA's, but this wasn't the mind-blowing event that Xbox sorely needed.

4/10

Why that high? Microsoft did show a few more exclusives than anticipated. At this point, the multi-platform games don't count when you consider how well both the Switch and a PlayStation 4 has been doing. The studios they acquired, we'll see where that goes especially since they pretty much destroyed rare. And not enough gameplay videos for the exclusives they are hyping over.

We watch these conferences to be entertained. People who don't even game on Xbox were in for a treat by watching this conference. Sure, Microsoft only really "sold" us on Xbox by improving the Game Pass and confirming that they've acquired more studios - but at the end of the day, they had one hell of a great conference in terms of structure and priority. For Microsoft's standards, this was amazing, and you know you can't expect them to announce exclusives on par with Sony. From what it looks like they're probably going to have the best third-party conference.

I just want all Halo games to come to pick, I'd totally buy that (especially if steam compatible so I can stream to my projector).

Name a Microsoft game that's come out since Windows 10 that's "Steam compatible".

I loved how the conference flew in the face of popular theories here and on Resetera about how this is Microsoft’s last Xbox console, they’re going all in on MP GaaS games and abandoning single player, and get ready for battle royale to get shoehorned into everything. Instead they confirmed their commitment to future Xbox hardware, showed zero battle royale gameplay in their titles, and announced FIVE new studios, most of whom are known for games with great single player offerings.

There was too much Japanese game nonsense for my tastes. That KH3 video was cringe worthy. I cannot imagine a grown man purchasing that. Tales of zzzzz no thanks. Loved more Cuphead, Gears actually looked good, and Horizon 4 looked incredible. The sequel to Motorstorm I’ve always wanted. And a 60 FPS mode for Scorpio. Delicious.

And Battletoads. 2019 looks huge for Xbone.

I've heard people say that this is Microsoft's last proper console. I can't say I've heard anyone say that this is Microsoft's last Xbox-branded hardware. Those two can be very different things. I wouldn't be surprised at all if MS's next console is a range of "Xbox certified" PCs that allow developers to optimize their engines better than PC games, while undercutting the cost of PC ownership by passing on the savings of mass-producing PCs to consumers. Kinda like MS's version of Steam Machines, except more tightly controlled.

I would actually not mind them taking Xbox in a more PC-oriented direction (provided Microsoft creates a proper TV mode UI for Windows 10; and interacting with games is more seamless like it on consoles). In many ways, the Xbox One, if it had support for things like Win32 apps and such, would have been the perfect desktop PC (it is relatively small, relatively inexpensive, it is a gaming device with games optimized for it, it is relatively quiet).
