Forums - Nintendo - Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee reveal trailer

Yeah no wild pokemon battles is bothersome. Guess this actually is a full on mainline style spin off though so it doesn't annoy me just as much. But don't know why they did that. At least the 2019 game will clearly be your traditional new gen and this is just to hold us over till then.

I wonder how to pass a johto or hoenn pokemon.
Maybe they'll release a pokemon let's go pichu / togepi in 2021?

I liked playing with a single joycon in a single hand. Best feature.
Trying to see the good side of not battling wild pokemon: No more using repel for avoiding zubat is neat. No grinding might keep it more challenging (for those who don't play pokemon go), you only have the limited exp of trainers to beat the game.

Just keep in mind guys this isn't meant to be the next mainline Pokemon game, and that a 2019 core Pokemon RPG will be “in the style of X and Y and Sun and Moon”

I'm okay with this as a spin off as long as you can turn off the motion controls. Also, these games are about a year late for the GO train.

The Core game better have a significantly bigger jump in visuals and less or no GO integration.

So... Will it be what will bring the Switch at 20 millions sales this year, like so many people predicted?

NS will hit 20m even with out it the platform was at 17m come the end of March.

I’m not against the idea of the implementation of Pokemon Go and it was expected tbh. But there is no reason for them to remove traditional and essential aspects like battleling wild Pokemon. They could have simply made it so that it switches to the Pkm Go catching screen if you decide to catch that wild Pokemon mid-battle. I see no use or reason to completely remove that aspect from the game.

Is just a spin-off

I don't see why so much complaining. As far as Pokemon spinoffs go this looks to be one of the better ones. Much better than Stadium/II, Colosseum/XD, or Battle Revolution. In fact, I am glad this is a spinoff as that means there is a chance the budget of the mainline title is much higher.

No online? No Pokemon outside of the original 151?! No wild battles?! Fuck, it's just going to be Yellow with better graphics. That's fucking stupid. I like the idea of co-op, I like the idea of a return to Kanto, but really? This is fucking stupid. As a spin-off, I'll enjoy them, but there's so much missed potential here.

It seems to be just a quick fix until the new core game comes out. This game was probably made in like a year.

What's funny is that this game actually handles wild encounters better than literally every other Pokémon RPG ever made.
