Forums - Nintendo - Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee reveal trailer

60 bucks for an addendum to the FREE Pokemon Go?
I'd maybe be interested to hear how the game will work more if it wasn't another full priced cash grab.

Seriously whats up with the pokemon developers always doin these weird non games as Pokemon console releases?

I was so disappointed with Pokemon Stadium as a kid seeing it as a a glorified activity set for my Gameboy game, I've just about sworn off all console pokemon games.

Nintendo's stock value has shot up 7% and still rising.

I don't know what people are talking about, this game looks like a lot of fun. The co-op mode looks like something I'll enjoy a lot.
I'm not really a Pokemon fan, though. I especially didn't like how Pokemon X was virtually the same game as Pokemon White. This one looks like a much more interesting development. I'd also be interested to see what this "mainline" Pokemon RPG 2019 is all about.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Yeah that's a pretty high cost for something so frivolous. Joy-cons can already be used for motion control ball throwing, so it's only unique functionality is to be carried around making noise. Don't think that's something many will be interested in.

So you got US/UM then? :L

US/UM are my second favourite pokemon games infact, only behind Platinum.

I liked US/UM, it added quite a bit more on top of the vanilla sun/moon, imo.

Fair enough!

I love it when people dont read the threads they post in.

Pokemon Lets Go (2018)-designed as a bridge for Pokemon Go players & former Pokemon players to begin/return to main series.

Pokemon Gen 8 (2019)-a new core entry for competitive players & long time fans.

They are listening to the core, loyal fanbase by taking extra time to make a true next-gen leap with Gen 8.

My concern is that they shouldn't be wasting their resources on Lets Go and instead focus totally on Gen 8.

Cmon, you can't say making a game that's guaranteed to sell well with potential to be a massive hit is a waste. Plus like you said, it's low effort cash grab, meaning little resources were put into it so they could focus on gen 8 while still releasing games to pay the bills and pacify fans. Would also explain US/UM. We can't know for sure but I doubt putting those resources into gen 8 would make that much of a difference. Game will have atleast 3 years dev time, that's plenty enough to make a great game.

Are people serious doubting let's go success? There haven't been a bad core Pokémon yet, and there for sure havent been a core title to sell bad.

It's not a core title, the 2019 game is the core title. This is a hybrid of a Yellow remake and Pokemon Go, so it's technically spinoff. As such, I think it will be the bestselling Pokemon spinoff, but I can't see it selling as well as any core Pokemon title sold (first versions), and possibly not even as well as the core title remakes sold.

Game freak considers it a core title, so everyone else should

Nah thats silly, Lets Go is going to sell a ton and be very profitable.

Its like saying they shouldn't waste resources on remakes or expanded versions.

So you think it would be better to have no new titles this year, even though there's a good chance that Let's go will still be pretty good games?

I guess this was supposed to be the new core Pokemon. They showed it and then they realised that many haven't liked it. Then they panicked and someone came up with the idea of "let's tweet the core Pokemon is coming and in the meantime we rush to make a new one as usual".

:D :D

Uh, no. There was never any chance of Gen 8 coming out this year. The only people who would think that are those who are ignorant of Pokemon's release schedule.

Gen 1 - 1996
Gen 2 - 1999
Gen 3 - 2002
Gen 4 - 2006
Gen 5 - 2010
Gen 6 - 2013
Gen 7 - 2016

The shortest gap has always been 3 years. But now suddenly Game Freak is expected to develop their first HD Pokemon games on a home console faster than any previous Pokemon generation? That is a completely illogical belief.

Let's Go was never planned as a core game.

of course, it was a joke

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

Haters gonna hate. Frankly this is a full featured Pokemon game as Sun and Moon was with additional features and with console production values. It looks bright and colorful, crisp, and awesome. I am excited for it and it's going to move 20 million consoles alone.

What also gets me excited is a console game my kids can play together even with their 3 year age difference. It's going to be a blast. Of course you'll have the those who complain but who really cares, they were never going to buy or couldn't afford it in the first place. They hate on things they don't/can't have as an emotional deflection tactic.

Yes, that's exactly what I think. However, there is not a good chance that let's go will be good game. Doing Kanto YET AGAIN, with only the original 151, with dumbed down wild battles, and features such as breeding removed.

Put even more devs on gen 8 instead.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
