How do you tend to purchase games nowadays?

All retail 251 20.06%

Mostly retail 426 34.05%

About half and half 218 17.43%

Mostly digital 202 16.15%

All digital 130 10.39%

I don't buy games 17 1.36%

Other 7 0.56%

Mostly retail. I"ll only buy digital for good deals. I have zero qualms about buying digital only games.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Age plays a big factor in this conversation, as you get older and have much more disposable income. You will start leaning to the convenience and prefer less clutter that digital offers.

Also if you own a switch, it doesn't really make much sense to go all digital. There internal hard drive is so small and cost to buy an micro SD is pretty expensive for limited space.

I think every one that said they buy all retail are lying, unless they live in a remote area without access to internet.

I live in the city, I buy all physical.

I bet you live in Toronto and buy at the Eaton mall or perhaps somewhere else on Younge. I can't remember if there is a video game store at Eaton.

I live about two hours away from Toronto, in London.

retail. i like to keep people employed and of the street.

The developers benefit the most from digital though.Wouldn't you prefer to keep the developers out the streets; instead of people that had nothing to do with the game?

Heres the issue I have.

If companies are going to claim that digital distribution is strictly a way of saving money...then those cost effective methods should by all means translate in customer discounts. Plain and simple.

I urge gamers and consumers alike to fight any of the big 3 that threatens to release a digital exclusive console...because the notion is plausible and possible.

I for one...do not trust non-physical copies of any medium let alone 65 dollar games and content.

If anyone is going to lose/break/destroy my personal belongings...it's going to be me. If I want to rip a disc from my PS and smash it into a thousand pieces because the boss fight on level 4 is making muscles in my face twitch then I will. That option should not be granted to digital storage.

I only buy when games are on sale, I'd never pay 60 bucks for a game whether physical or digital. The business that is going to rip me off hasn't been invented yet, so I totally agree with you on this.

Physical all the way!!, EXCEPT ..if say like a game my friend really wants me to play and I'm not really feeling it and may ruin my collection so ill buy digital when they're cheap.

Developers don't receive any additional benefit, whether you purchase at retail or digital. The publishers might, but who gives a fig about those greedy sobs!!! Those guys would happily to kill off your favorite franchise in the blink of an eye, if it did anything to make their spreadsheets look even prettier...   :(

Often the dev and publisher are the same though, or at least have the same corporate overlords
