Forums - Sales Discussion - PS4 Won February NPD (PS4: 363K, XBO: 310K, NSW: 279K)

I think it depends on gta 6. If it releases on the ps4 then yes ps4 will surpass the ps2. I think this year will also surpass last year because of spider-man and gow.

I think you are being too optimistic. I don't mean discourage that, but if next generation is in 2020, it will be really hard to reach 160 Million (This is closer PS2 actual total, do not know why 155 Million is used)

switch got destroyed this month, being out sold be 30% by ps4, and losing to xbox, that looks like losing momentum to me,

Are you praying every day that the switch will lose momentum so get your time to shine?

The PS4 and Xbox had two huge releases at the end of January/ Feb being MHW/DBZ. It would be a shock they didn’t win.

esp Xbox which just had a hardware revision plus constant price cut.

Will you crawl back to your cave If the switch win March due to Kirby? Because it will. Bookmark this.

Thats honestly BS BlackBeauty.
The majority here & other forums, expect the Switch to win Feb.

"crawl back to your cave" really? <.<
Amazon was makeing it look like Switch had Feb NPD won, amazon just got it wrong (prediction for npd winner), it happends.

I think the releases for Nintendo this year have been far too dry. Not sure if they were expecting more 3rd party support by now but I think that's going to hurt them a bit. Smash in 2018 is pretty great and will definitely push some systems but it seemed like practically everything else in the Direct was a port. They should really just halt 3DS game production and get all their dev teams on Switch games cause it's a desert other than indies for the most part.

Impressive win, considering it's not the newest console in the market. If these are NA numbers, then I'd love to see the worldwide figures, particularly when a few choice game releases.

You know that 30% higher from 200k-230k is ~60k? Wich is ~15k higher from every week. That's far from being DESTROYED by the competition.

And lol at people making a deal about the console age, like if people go to store "hey, how old is this console? What?! 4 years? Ugh, that's like my grandma age in console years... No deal"

Based on the leak and others information we have the first estimation by Zedark:

367k for PS4 and 282k for Switch

So that puts XB @ 313k, if it's 11% higher than NSW.

PS4 367k
XB1 313k
NSW 282k

*edit:

nvm just saw Quickrich post afterwards:

Number from rying which are as reliable as they get.

NSW ~ 280K
XB1 ~ 311K
PS4 ~ 364K

numbers don't look bad for switch at all actually.

PS4 is a true beast, still being the number one after 4 years is phenomenal!

I'm impressed I was expecting a Switch win.

When does the official NPD report be released?

I literally said ps4 would win in the prediction thread and was called out for it. MHW did exactly what I thought it would do. Although I didn't expect xb1 to outsell Switch.

Which brings the question if MHW had anything to do with PS4 winning.

I would be it did. The standard xb1 was on sale for most of the month so I'd bet that was what drove xb1 to second. Either way Switch sold more in February than January. I'm not worried.

January-Febraury were dry and despite that good sales are continued same like Switch momentum, but March already has Kirby thats seems is quite popular and from April and Labo lineup is getting stronger, Switch will have great sales and better than last year in any case.
