Ya, it takes awhile. PS4 which has had Homebrew for awhile just got ps2 games working in the last four months or so.

4.05 f/w features full blown piracy, in fact.

Is that more recent? I only know about the ps2 from Christmas or Jan.

Has a console ever been cracked so fast?

This will boost hardware sales but decrease software revenue for Nintendo.

Yes, The PSP did.

Here is a nice trip down memory lane: http://wololo.net/2014/01/18/10-days-of-hacking-day-4-the-psp-part-1/

Well that definitely boosted psp sales then.

http://wololo.net/2018/01/22/ps4-piracy-now-thing-firmware-4-05/ is what I can easily find, though I think there were more recent news on this too...

The Wii had an exploit right with the launch game Twilight Princess. Don't remember how fast that was found.

And I doubt big impact on software sales. Using hacks for piracy is less attractive than it was two generations ago. The reason is are all the internet-dependant enhancements. Use a pirated copy and lose multiplayer, online leaderboards, events and stuff like that. So I pretty much doubt a measurable impact.
