If you got it for $5 at walmart, chances are you got it way after release and are playing a totally different game than what was released.

yeah got it around Oct 2017, while the game could probably still use some work...it was a steal for $5

I was able to borrow a lot of Wii U games so I didn't really have to pay for them to play basically all the titles on the Wii U

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Ah I just thought of one I got about a year ago... They were selling Pilotwings Resort for the 3DS for $2, definitely felt like I got a lot more than $2 of entertainment out of it.

That's actually the most common "deals" I tend to find... there's a lot of quality DS and 3DS games being sold used for next to nothing. I occasionally pick a few from the $5 and under group and generally really enjoy at least one or two of them.

I've had a ton of good prices, only this gen I picked up The Evil Within for and Mafia 3 for 3 euro on ps4 and I picked up the huge tekken 7 collectors edition with statue up for 30 on xbox one with the season pass and everything, crazy price.

I remember during the PS2 era some stores just stopped selling Gamecube and Xbob because they where not selling compared to PS2 games and I picked up a ton of Gamecube games like Resident Evil and Mario Kart/Mario Party for less then 10 and the Wavebird controller for less then 20, that was a steal !!

Also I remember I picked up 12 months of xbox live gold for less then 10 a few times because the codes where about to expire that month! ^^

As far as bargains go, I remember getting Mario Kart 64 and Star Wars Rogue Squadron for a few bucks each back in 2001 or so, when the N64 was still viable. Seemed like a crazy good deal at the time. I also got Custom Robo for Gamecube for like two bucks in a used game bin...and ended up enjoying it a lot.

Not really what the OP is asking, but I also remember when Club Nintendo was still a thing, and I got $40 in eShop through a promotion for buying both Fire Emblem Awakening and SMT IV, both of which I already wanted. I used the credit to get Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which means I effectively got a free game for no reason. Man I miss Club Nintendo.

Last week, I got 2 Xbox One controllers for $5 each. The B button on one of them is a little sticky but the other one is perfect

TIME...
All you have to do is wait a few months, a bit more a bit less depending on games and prices almost always go down. The last thing you wanna do is play video games on day one of their releases.
Video games publishers count on the fact that people are way too impatient and they tap on people's need to play right now. When you see how some video games can be played when their download is not even fully made, you realize how extremely impatient people are.

As a rule I NEVER pay a game more than half the full price but often I pay even less than that. I usually wait for games to reach a third of their day one price. So for a AAA 60 euros game I never pay more than 30 but more often than not I wait for the game to get to around 20 euros and that's when I go for it.

So I cannot give you a title of a specific game because ALL my games are bargains.

I just can't get behind this thought process at all. You say people are impatient, but I feel as though those same people would just refer to you as cheap.
