As far as bargains go, I remember getting Mario Kart 64 and Star Wars Rogue Squadron for a few bucks each back in 2001 or so, when the N64 was still viable. Seemed like a crazy good deal at the time. I also got Custom Robo for Gamecube for like two bucks in a used game bin...and ended up enjoying it a lot.
Not really what the OP is asking, but I also remember when Club Nintendo was still a thing, and I got $40 in eShop through a promotion for buying both Fire Emblem Awakening and SMT IV, both of which I already wanted. I used the credit to get Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which means I effectively got a free game for no reason. Man I miss Club Nintendo.
