Price aside, the bargain find that was most meaningful to me happened when I was a kid.

My mom used to go to a particular drug store chain to get her medicine.  While she was standing in line, I'd go look at the toys, pick something out, then whine at her until she gave in (rare) or threatened me unless I stopped (more common).

Now, video games back then were really expensive.  I don't think I ever got a new one unless it was from the bargain bin.

Most of the time, it was just a bunch of junk looking games but in this instance, I found one with a title that caught my interest.  It said, "Final Fantasy."  I'd never heard of it but I loved fantasy stuff.

It had to be good, right?

It was.  I loved it.  I used to carefully unfold the map and just gaze at it.  It was my favorite NES game and it had a big influence on my gaming tastes after that.  In fact, I would probably never have picked up Final Fantasy 6 later on if I hadn't played the first game.
