Forums - Gaming Discussion - 2017 is not ps4's peak year!

I have the same gut feeling. I would be bold enough to predict that the big differentiator will be the VR bundling at attractive pricing. So far it has been a bit pricey butthe bundles during Black friday sold well, anf the game portfolio begins to be attractive, so if Sony manages to press the pricing just a little more, I would be expecting big sales.

I think its gonna be roughly the same as 2017... but abit lower.
So instead of doing 21m like in 2017... it probably does 20m (if things go well).

Even if its peaked in 2017..... .selling 20m is something, that would put it around 94m by early 2019.

Definitely not the peak year. 2018 is gonna be too crazy.

Would be insane.... hopefully it turns out that way.

PS consoles just keep on selling over time. They NEVER release with a must have title and still perform great numbers because the console itself is a selling factor due to it being more than just a console - music (spotify), movies (bluray, netflix, amazon video), photo viewer - well, it's all there. I still see the PS4 selling 130+ million with all the big name titles coming out in the future.

well, to keep it about flat for 2018 would already be a big achievement being 5th full year and also having so great 2015-2017, but sure it can still go over it.

Lies! PS4 released with Knack! That is THE must have title of the last decade!

People always forget the title that handly beat Mario on UK.

2018 is going to easily be the PS4s biggest year assuming a decent portion of previously announced titles release. God of War, Spider-Man, Ni No Kuni, Shadow of the Colossus, and Detroit are enough to make it my favorite year at least.

Talking about HW sales as well? If PS4 peak in 2018 that will be quite a big feat.

Of course this isn’t its peak year; it’s not even officially at the magical $199 price tag yet. I think, PS4 has a much stronger exclusive lineup this year, and the better third party support with games like RDR2, FC5, and the next CoD will most definitely bolster sales. If they can secure getting the full release of PUBG at its launch this year, that would just be icing on the cake.
