Forums - Microsoft Discussion - X1X sells 80k+ first week in U.K

I wonder if this means that they'll try to push the X as the main variant, and try to phase out the S.

Probably not.X is still too expensive and will be so for a long time, and they need a cheaper option to sell to those that dont want something expensive.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

PS4 ----------- 250,000 --- 2 days
Xbox One ------ 150,000 --- 2 days
Switch -------- 80,000 ---- 2 days
Xbox One X ---- 80,000 ---- 5 days
PS4 Pro ------- 50,000 ---- 3 days
* hardware figures are up-weighted 20%
** stock shortages of both PS4 Pro and Switch will have impacted the performance of those machines

Doesn't the 1X also have stock issues in the UK?

From the bigger retailers Amazon sold out on launch day and got restocked on the 12th,Argos sold out before launch and just got restocked for online delivery and Tesco sold out at launch and got stock due on 16th, Smyths were taking orders but not for release and to be fulfilled by 19th November, Brick and mortar GAME stores have had no stock (in my area and parents anyway) but they have kept just online stock available for purchase.

no way. the XBOS is by far cheaper, and will sell a lot more as a result. even in interviews phil spencer has said that they know the S will sell more.

This is actually impressive @ 500 bucks. Congrats MS.

Praise the One.

So it was sold out most places but not everywhere?

Essentially what could be expected imho. Differences to PS4 Pro numbers are understandable. Many X1 owners being sick of their X1 console and desperately waiting for an upgrade for years will want to upgrade. PS4 owners didn't feel the need to for the most part, since the gap between the consoles doesn't leave early buyers and base unit users in the dust.

Yep! Who doesn't want the most powerful console!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Impressive numbers.

Can't wait to see numbers this holiday. All 3 will be back in full force

Nice debute This bodes well for the holliday season as well

Well, it will sell more, but I guess it depends how much they'd be willing to throw the S under the bus in favour of the X.
