Sure PS4Pro shortages may have little effects on the numbers today (after 1 year) as will Switch numbers in like 1 year from now be very little impacted by the shortages of the first 6 months. Yet when talking about only the 1st week of sales of both PS4P and Switch on UK that is what this thread is about and the links were provided for this Both system could have sold more than what they had (and you can disbelief all you want, but Sony official communication and some reports put that PS4P had WW stock issues for like 6 months, sure it wasn't high droughts because the demand wasn't equivalent to PS4, still it sold 1/5 of the total).

Well talking about X1 shortages compared to Switch and PS4 is apples and oranges, sales as well... still here we are talking about X1 sales.

And let me add that comparing Switch launch sales to either the launch Pro or X is not the best comparison due to the fact that it's comparing a newly launched console to a "mid-upgrade" to an already established console.  That's comparing apples to oranges.  But comparing the Pro to the X is like Gala to Fuji or Red Delicious to Golden Delicious.  But, yes, I concur that there were PS4 shortages at launch.

Even comparing Switch to PS4 is kinda hard because they launched in different window, had supply constrains (and Switch for a lot longer), so all we know is that they were in high demand and supply constraint and that even if PS4 sold better aligned, if Switch had more stock it perhaps could have outsold PS4. We will only have some idea after 1 year or so.

I just admitted that long term the shortage had little impact, but we are discussing 1st week in UK. You were given link showing that even months after launch it was supply constrained anyway. And I tried to buy a PS4Pro and a PSVR on Washington in April. I found only one refurbished PS4P and one PSVR available to sale and that was 6 months after release so there wasn't plenty available (and of course there wasn't a high demand, just more demand than supply).

Yes Switch is on a different league than PS4Pro, but suddenly is X1X in the same league? Because here we are comparing it.

You want to say X1X have more demand without anything to backup but others need to be biased not to see? Switch and PS4P were constrained on release so one can't really say if there were more demand or just that X1X had 18 months of marketing (against almost no marketing for PS4P) or just more sales on week 1. Long term I really don't think X1X will outsell PS4P, and there is that small issue of MS not releasing their numbers at all.

Marketing is part of the whole sale process... I mean if marketing is driving a higher demand, that's just what it is and at the end the demand is higher (or not) but as you pretend the shortage of the Play Station Four Pro is responsible for the not-so-high initial numbers you cannot dismiss the marketing as being one factor for the Xbox One X highest (or not, again, after one week, hard to say). At this point anyway it is really coming to the point where people who are more interested into the Play Station brand could not find any after few weeks anywhere where people like me could see some available at multiple locations... That or we have a very different definition of shortage.

Underline: From where did you even come up with this? I mean, do you even read anything or try to understand my posts or are you just sticking on some keywords? I'm talking about shortage from the start and comparing the Play Station Four Pro and Switch from the start... Not sure where you saw me comparing any Xbox One X shortage (which does not exist) with the Switch or even mentioning the Xbox One X to be in the same league than the Switch.

For me, the Switch situation is what I call a shortage, when no one really can buy it even if they are willing to check other stores (online or street) than one or two in their vicinity. I do not know anyone who could not find a Play Station Four Pro in 1 or 2 weeks at any moment.

I do not think the shortage of Play Station Four Pro had any real effect overall after few weeks (I'm not talking about a year after). Come on, why is it so hard to admit that for the Play Station Four Pro (out of the 3 with Xbox One X and Switch), the demand was lower... I mean while some shortage may have occurred the Play Station Four Pro was available everywhere and if someone wanted one 2 or 3 weeks after launch; you could find one... Or I'm living on another planet and all the stores (including amazon, Walmart, etc..) here are just different :). For the Switch it is a completely different story but as I said before comparing what happen with those 2 makes no sense and it was just 2 different leagues.

It does not say the Play Station Four Pro is bad but that's not the same level at all... And based on the current numbers the Xbox One X demand is higher and is just selling more by a good margin (even % wise compare to the base system) than the Play Station Four Pro... Of course this is the first week, of course it is only UK numbers, of course Microsoft made sure made sure no shortage will happen, but things are just looking different than the Play Station Four Pro. You do not need to have any bias for that (or like this dude said, want to re-write history with your own narrative)

I highly doubt this was the case.  So no need to get your Xbox ego stroked over it.

Well, you can add any emoji you want to make you sound neutral here; we both know where is your ego or bias is in general esp. when you post in Xbox related threads :)

And my "Xbox ego" has nothing to do with this, 66% of the Xbox One sold in the UK are Xbox One X... Numbers are just what matter or not?... Now, based your realistic bias, this big "shortage" of the Play Station Four Pro is the only reason 66% of the Play Station Four Pro sales first week in the UK were not Play Station Four Pro... I guess my "Xbox ego" is making that up...

I know this website has a majority of Play Station and Nintendo enthusiasts (so expecting to win any argument is close to 0, not sure why I'm even wasting time here :)) but the need to always try to downplay the Xboxes in the any Xbox threads is really become an obsession for some of you.

Here you go, so you can have a better day: the Play Station Four Pro and the Switch had the same issues (I means same level, really, fine), and the Play Station Four Pro would have sold WAY more without this legendary shortage you are talking about. And the Xbox One X debuts are not that good, really bad actually, I mean there is no shortage anywhere, shows how bad it is right? Esp. when you compare it to the almighty Play Station Four Pro who is comparable to the Switch in term of demand. There you go, feel free to quote me if you want to add up to your future non-related Xbox One X debut in the UK post in this thread in the future and downplay it even more.

There was a time when I used to post positive Xbox One news whenever I can find them because there wasn't a lot during the first three years of this console generation.  So I attempted to do my part.  This is fact, and I would suspect that out of most of VGChartz users (if not all) I've posted the most positive Xbox news in these forums.  Thinking what you want doesn't surprise me.  I remember when having an opposing view to an PlayStation fan, I was accused of being an Xbox fanboy.  Whatever.  But reports have shown that both the X and the Pro were supply constraint.  Also, it's been estimated that out of every 5 PS4 consoles sold, 1 has been the Pro.  These are numbers, too, and the Pro has been out over a year now.  I think that's good.  You may not.  So it's never been just about the number, see?  So we'll see how well the X fairs after a year.  But I don't blame you for getting overly excite over the 66% figure.  I would too after four years of not-so-great Xbox One news.  Ego. :::no emijo:::

Yep I remember all that. You used to constantly post a ton of Microsoft stuff.  You used to out do most everyone.

You can go back and look through your "threads created" section and see all kinds of evidence of that.

I do find it amusing that you are being called out for being a "Sony Fan" by someone that is a "Microsoft fan" when you used to get called out for being a "Microsoft fan" by people back in the day.

You are bound to love Earthbound.

Hahaha, I just love all the downplay xbox is receiving. Keep it up guys.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Errrr man... where to being... Sure the objective of marketing is to raise demand, and when done for 18 months it should work. What does that have to do to anything besides that X1X being much more marketed should have raised X1X above PS4P? Still that doesn't necessarily warranty results. It is funny that you try to make your anedocte a fact against formal reports from Sony and magazines.

You do know that in USA, X1X was "almost out of stock" right? And for release that basically means it wasn't as good as it should since 1st week is supposed to be completely sold out.

This thread is about X1, so if any comparison isn't being made relevant to the thread then it's off-topic. So when you are talking about PS4P no being on league with Switch but missing to say X1X also isn't in league with them then one would infer that you are thinking X1X would be in league with one or the two.

So am I no one? Because I needed to buy used after looking all stores in the region of washington DC? Are the Magazines reporting shortages for over some months lying?

Do you know that winning an argument is relevant to the quality of your argument instead of the number of people you are arguing against?

And no one in here said PS4P shortages are comparable to Switch, only one inferring that is you trying to mock others, what was said is that both where in shortage during first months so the first week sales could have been higher.

And please entretain us on how much more will X1X sell over PS4P LT.

Is your reading limited to only what you want to acknowledge?

Well this is how it is.. I only ever afford the level of quality in my response commensurate to the post I am responding too. So yes I was playing around with you because your post was completely arrogant, immature and unnecessary.   When I arrived at imaginedvl  post I agreed to its premise and so decided to quote and reply. This is part of what we do feely here.

If you disagree, reply directly and address me,  make the point, reiterate if need be - even if someone has already raised it. That's the way the site work and its courtious.  Who are you to decide and mandate that I read every post to the end and then demand some kind of acknowledgement of a subsequent post which may not agree with my position, - and just because the response appears to subscribe to your point of view. The post in question by the way is no more factual that mine, - perhaps even less so as it fails to acknowledge that the current launch demand for xonex is greater than the ps4 pro during its launch. And overall the premise of this post (not mention the poor tone in it) is pretty much addressed before it was made by other posters such as imgaginedvl.  If these type of threads and the way people freely post bother you that much, maybe you should stay off them. So indeed, it would appear that your reading is limited to what you want to acknowledge. And couple this with a poor level of tolerance to how others post here.. Hope you learn something from this....
