Forums - Microsoft Discussion - X1X sells 80k+ first week in U.K

That's good. If it keeps up the momentum, then the S might be legacy console faster than we think.

Nothing special for me. I mean It was obvious that XoX will sell quite well.

To be honest it's surprised me how people react for XoX sale.
MS is promoting their own console for the good whole year. Instead of games (i don't count 44 "console launch exclusives") and they talking only about 4k. When at the same time Sony and Nintendo delivering games one after another.

Essentially what could be expected imho. Differences to PS4 Pro numbers are understandable. Many X1 owners being sick of their X1 console and desperately waiting for an upgrade for years will want to upgrade. PS4 owners didn't feel the need to for the most part, since the gap between the consoles doesn't leave early buyers and base unit users in the dust.

I wonder if this means that they'll try to push the X as the main variant, and try to phase out the S.

Good first week. Now let's see how much can it sustain itself.

Doesn't the 1X also have stock issues in the UK?

From what i've read on different forums, it does not. (i am not from UK, btw)

Well colour me surprised.I still think this will be front loaded(think of Pro to know what IU meant inb terms of long term effect), but this is great news for Microsoft.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Probably not.X is still too expensive and will be so for a long time, and they need a cheaper option to sell to those that dont want something expensive.
