I feel like I'm enjoying the Switch 2 more today than I did on launch day, cos yesterday I woke up at like 3am after only 3 hours sleep, was too excited to fall asleep again, and so was an exhausted zombie all day lmao
Taking my time with Mario Kart World and Fast Fusion doing only like 1-2 cups per day as I waited like 10 years for them so I want to savour them.
Also took Cyberpunk 2077 and Kunitsu-gami for a spin just to see how they run; the answer is pretty darn well, a massive step up from PS4 ports to Switch 1.
So far I've played it entirely on my 1080p SDR TV from 2015, as I am at my old place while my girlfriend's parents are visiting from overseas; in a few days I'll be back at our new place where I'll get to try it out on my 2023 HDR/4K set, looking forward to seeing how it looks on that.
So I actually did not get to play anything yesterday lol
I managed to get some time to play right before going to work this morning.
Played Mario Kart World and....
Damn, its pretty great!
Its not much of a free world roaming in races , its Mario Kart with larger race tracks at least from what I played.
Have not tried out free roam yet and when I get back, need to turn off driver assist.
From playing so far - I did the Mushroom and Fire Flower cup - the stages are much better than MK8/D's race stages (non-booster pack).
The music was great, a lot of nostalgia - need these tracks on Nintendo music stat!
Anyways, I'll be playing more later tonight and the weekend.

I am also a huge battle mode fan, so i feel you... I know for certain that they will add Shine thief and Bomb blast down the road, but it would be nice if they make a capture the flag mode or even a traditional tag game

So like me lol As soon as I came back , put my bag with my switch in my media room and went straight to shower even though it was past midnight. I dont know...I might not wanna do another midnight launch cause lets just say...it was crowded and...smelly lol I had to dowse myself a bit more than usual with soap and shampoo lmao Headed to bed after that lol. Thankfully worked from home today so I was able to set up my Switch 2 today. |
Yeah, I was up for 23 hours ( starting at 5 AM and ending at 3 AM launch day, 6 of which was spent camping out front of my game store), then came home and 3 more of them were just me staying up till 3 AM trying to download and deal with the game card stuff to get the Zelda upgrades. I then woke up at a reasonable hour of 7 AM, so 4 hours of sleep after 22 hours awake and I was just dead.
I played a bit of Mario Kart after forcing myself to do so and I sucked pretty hard but by the end (That Rainbow road) I was nearly in tears.
Now that I've had time to relax and enjoy some free roam...yeah this is a special game. Then again, Mario Kart is always one of my favourite games any year it releases so that doesn't surprise me. It helps that it's pretty much EXACTLY what I predicted a few years back as the only real way they could improve after how comprehensive Mario Kart 8 was.
Now I wonder what they're gonna do with Zelda, 3D Mario, and Smash Bros.

— Nintendo Prime (@NintyPrime) June 6, 2025
I have now heard from 3 independent people that Nintendo have globally shifted over 3m Switch 2 units. This doesn’t include any additional sales made today already and over the upcoming weekend.
For perspective, no console has come close to that level of…

This is the first I've seen of how well it sold on launch day. I did a search and can't find anything. Is this person trustworthy? I don't know who they are.
