The stereotypes are a lame reason to not make another Punch-Out game.

It is, but I understand their worries. Some people just see the stereotypes and nothing else. Punch-Out!! is one of my favorite Nintendo franchises and I would love a new one though. Maybe in a few years when tensions arent as high on cerain topics.

But some of the stereotypical characters are really endearing, like Disco Kid or Bear Hugger. As a Canadian I can even confirm that we do have big hairy lumberjacks who eat raw fish like Bear Hugger.

With the new year a few days in tow now, I'm glad to have finished my first game of 2025(even if it was begun in 2024).
Great experience with Romancing SaGa 2 remake. Gonna be cruising more on Mario & Luigi Brothership and DQ III HD-2D now until Nintendo decides to excite us with the upcoming Switch 2 reveal or the release of Xenoblade Chronicles X DE in March.

A good breather to be introspective about the last generation too ...

Nice, I finished my first game of 2025 too (GTAV on PS5).

I need to get into the SaGa series again, only played the GBA FF Legends games.

I mean the SaGa games are comprised of multiple sub series like you mentioned the GB FF titles.

Romancing SaGa were the games originally on the SNES. Thankfully they are like FF games where there isn't a connection between the sequels, self contained.

Didn't think the remake of 2 would be my GOTY when I first started, but it clicked in a way like rarely games do.

I also played the third game's remaster a few years back, it was great. Would definitely like a remake treatment but I think the devs are already working on another project that isn't SaGa related. I'll prolly dive into the SaGa games next with SaGa Frontier remaster, which is a cult PSX game.

I've got plenty of fishes to fry first though 😅

I know, but there's been so many games from SE in general that I've missed out and catching up.

Right now focusing on Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on PC for an example.

Whats a fun little indie game on the switch? I want something I can play in short bursts.

Depends on genre?

Freedom Planet I highly recommend.

The Shantae games are great too but they are Metroidvania style.

Chop Goblins and Lunistice are a lot of fun and well suited to short play sessions, both really cheap too.

I'll try Lunistice but its funny that you both brought up games with Cat girls.
