Okay yeah i got around to Rhythm Heaven Groove in handheld today and holy cow it is night and day compared to playing it on TV. Like the visuals aren’t consistently 50ms off the beat (with the calibration having made it significantly worse). I actually had a yon of fun playing it instead of becoming sleepy (I would close my eyes to avoid being confused by the off-sync visuals).

Why?

Because it would be a fun way to release their classic libraries.

They are already available on their original hardware. A bit expensive, but a new retro system from them wouldnt really be that cheap either.

Also I would rather they just released compilations of their older games physically for the Switch 2.

Sadly none of those are likely to happen anymore because of NSO. -_-

Thats true. I own the games I want by Nintendo from the NES to the Switch 2, so Im good either way.

But I would rather younger players got to experience games as far back as the NES without having to subscribe to NSO. That's not owning that's renting, and the NSO service could be discontinued one day, just like Sateleview was.

The Mario Galaxy movie and Mouse PI for Hire are in the mail, so time to check my letterbox compulsively like it's a real life loot crate haha.

2026 is also looking like it might set a record for me; the most games I have bought and kept (as in, it turned out to be good so I didn't delete/resell it) for a single console in a single year was 14 games for Switch 1 in 2022. Already up to 7 for Switch 2 this year, but with several I already bought waiting in the wings and a ton more upcoming.

Well the NSO isnt going away anytime soon. And by the time that happen this Nintendo evercade console would be a collectors item and probably just as expensive as collectiong for older consoles. If they really want to experience older games, then there are several ways they can do that without breaking the bank.
