Just finished Mario Galaxy 2 with 242 stars. Still probably my favorite game ever. Remembered Grandmaster Galaxy being a bit tougher.

Mario Galaxy 2 is so good!! These are like my exact thoughts I shared here back in October 2025, back when the double pack release for NSW.

Spoiler!
Also: Maybe add a spoiler warning for 242 stars? I’d imagine there may be some here who have never played through all of SMG2, even if the game is 15 years old. Just my two cents tho.

Suppose you park your car in a area known for car thefts and don't lock the door. Your car gets stolen.

Does this justify the actions of the car thief? No.

Should you have locked your door? Yes.

Likewise, leaks are a known risk. The longer you hold out on announcing the more likely your anouncement is to be spoiled. It's not right, but it's reality.

I do appreciate the analogy, especially as you highlight the action itself is not justified regardless of some portion of the audience demanding "transparency"... It's Nintendo's software lineup, not your local politician lol

But ultimately I think too much emphasis is put on the time sensitivity of the leaks. Donkey Kong was a surprise to me but only announced 4months ahead of time, things can be kept in check.

The issue really is the leakers & the whole clout chasing system by people like Nate, it's industry wide. Tbh I suspect earlier announcements will just typically lead to earlier leaks... It is what it is.

Naturally IGN gives one of the lower scores. Guess it had too much water for them.

IGN is often the most reliable for Nintendo games IMO, specifically for your Mario & Luigi platformers and RPGs— M&L:BS, DKBananza (10/10(!)), Mario Bros Wonder, etc. Not the best for cozy life sims.
