Well… I’m very sorry for starting a war in the Club Nintendo forum. Oof! Did not expect this to turn into such a war.

Anyways.. I just 100% beat Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. And yes, you read that right. The game I’ve dragged through the mud for the past several months despite having watched nothing more than an Arlo video? I just 100% beat it. I got 200% of the green crystals, every hidden items, and…well…only 83% of all scans. But that’s because I missed a lot of the early game perma-miss scans.

Overall impressions? 8.7 out of 10. I don’t know if Sony paid off the critics or something, but this game is legitimately perfectly fine. Sure, virtually every aspect of the story is comically bad, and there are certainly many very questionable game design choices— but in the end, it really didn’t bother me. Like at all. I appreciate when a game isn’t some magmun opus masterpiece. The gameplay loop was very fun, and honestly? While I did get around 23hr of playtime out of the game, I kinda wish it went on for a bit longer. Especially for the $70USD price tag.

Make no mistake: This is very different from the Metroid Prime we all know and love. But the foundation laid here really does give me hope for the future of 3D Metroid. It gives me heavy Sonic Frontiers vibes.

And with that… my Spring Break is over. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Super Mario Bros 3 NES were the two games I played this break. Next up: Either DKBananza, Pokémon Legends Z-A, or Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment.

Spoiler!

Glad you had a good time with Prime 4; I did as well.

It's not a traditional Metroidvania, nor as masterful as Prime 1-3, but it's still a well made and enjoyable game in my book.

Of the three you mentioned, I'd recommend DK Bananza first, that and RE Requiem are the system's best games to date. (Again IMO)

The irony here is how your argument itself has turned into an equivocation fallacy because again I've explained the context of what you're triggered by, the need for hype turns leads into what I highlighted a case point is that E3 with the PS4 where FFVIIR and so on where all announced and the games didn't release for years but sure keep crying over it another example is Metroid Prime 4.

Your Pokopia part was edited after I replied but I'll address it as it further highlights the hype addiction being pointed out as that game was in the timescale you're suggesting and guess what people are still wanting an ND and so on for more, we even have FE which is likely in the same period and people are only concerned about what else is coming. This is a text book example of what I highlighted earlier in that they want announcements for the sake of hype and will lead to games being announced years off from release, note that I'm saying that's where it leads to before you throw more toys out the pram.

Im not triggered im just addressing your nonsense with the snark warranted. You're trying to to fire back bless your heart but you're in a gunfight armed with a spork. Leave the snark to me dearie.

But, yes, the bolded is exactly the point.

As explained by both me and ai a strawman argument is replacing something reasonable with something unreasonable.

The reasonable thing is wanting to know what Nintendo will be releasing 4 to 6 months out.

You are instead arguing that people will repeatedly demand things further and further out until things are announced years in advance and they still wont be happy.

Am i describing that accurately? If not correct me.

If so, yes that is a strawman. You are arguing about a purely hypothetical utterly insatiable fanbase existing solely in your mind. That is the strawman you keep attacking. You're repeatedly insisting you are not attacking a strawman while you are in the process of sodomizing a strawman with a rusty hook. Its fascinating.

So, my actual position is that i would like Nintendo to have release date for most games between four to six months. I think that accurately represents the opinion of many in this thread.  I assure you i will not be demanding more directs in this scenario. Can you address this instead of the poor strawman you keep attacking? You've already beaten all the straw out of him. (Also a slippery slope fallacy btw).

Your point on Pokopia was that people got a game announcement six months ago they should not want another direct six months later @_@? Like really? "Why are you asking for dinner, we just ate last tuesday?"

People got a direct, knew the upcoming lineup, and were content for a while. Now that those games are released they want to know whats next. Nintendo better hope we always want to know whats next, because if we arent interested in what they will be releasing they will literally go out of business. The question is the appropriate timing. In your mind when would it be appropriate for lord Nintendo to graciously give us fans another direct? How long should a pokopia trailer keep us satiated?

As for Metroid Prime and FF7 they dont prove anything. They show that announcing things too far in advance is also potentially a problem. This is a false dichotomy. The options are not announcing five years ahead of time or 2 months. There is a wide range of time in between. Notice btw i am directly addressing your points, not making vague allusions to context. Because that is how reasonable conversation is meant to work.

But the main reason I responded is that I'm genuinely curious if you could do the following. Honestly feel free to ignore everything else as you've been doing.

Explain what an equivocation fallacy is and where I made one.

I know i didnt so it should be amusing to watch you try.

Edit: About what I expected.

Happy for quality experiences to be rewarded so glad this is doing well. And looking forward to see what other devs Nintendo collab with on future Pokemon. My dream team would be Square Enix for a linear, single player pokemon experience.

Not sure it's for me, I'm definitely still in the boat of people waiting for more meaty games to be announced for 2026. The 3rd party line up is great but I'll be playing almost all of those games on Playstation

I was about to say, Nintendo’s stock has been soaring since Thursday. Everyday they’ve well outperformed the rest of the market. Seeing so much green amidst soaring oil prices is very impressive.

Just rewatched that Yoshi trailer: That is a very adorable game lol! Love the music as well!! I’m really interested in this gameplay loop the got going on here… it seems very unique from anything I’ve ever played. Has potential to really be either a really fun and relaxing time, or very dry and surface-level. I’ll think on purchasing this one.

Looks to me like a spiritual successor to Yoshi's story
