The reasonable thing is wanting to know what Nintendo will be releasing 4 to 6 months out.
You are instead arguing that people will repeatedly demand things further and further out until things are announced years in advance and they still wont be happy.

So, my actual position is that i would like Nintendo to have release date for most games between four to six months. I think that accurately represents the opinion of many in this thread. I assure you i will not be demanding more directs in this scenario. Can you address this instead of the poor strawman you keep attacking? You've already beaten all the straw out of him. Your point on Pokopia was that people got a game announcement six months ago they should not want another direct six months later @_@? Like really? "Why are you asking for dinner, we just ate last tuesday?"
People got a direct, knew the upcoming lineup, and were content for a while. Now that those games are released they want to know whats next. Nintendo better hope we always want to know whats next, because if we arent interested in what they will be releasing they will literally go out of business. The question is the appropriate timing. In your mind when would it be appropriate for lord Nintendo to graciously give us fans another direct? How long should a pokopia trailer keep us satiated?
As for Metroid Prime and FF7 they dont prove anything. They show that announcing things too far in advance is also potentially a problem. This is a false dichotomy. The options are not announcing five years ahead of time or 2 months. There is a wide range of time in between. Notice btw i am directly addressing your points, not making vague allusions to context. Because that is how reasonable conversation is meant to work.
But the main reason I responded is that I'm genuinely curious if you could do the following. Honestly feel free to ignore everything else as you've been doing.
Explain what an equivocation fallacy is and where I made one.
