Furukawa has addressed the ram price situation again, pretty much repeating what he said before, though with a more definitive time frame on when it could be come an issue.

"Furukawa says the recent surge in memory prices didn't significantly impact on its hardware profitability during the third quarter of its financial year (October to December 2025), and he doesn't expect a significant impact in the fourth quarter either.

He noted, however, that should the surge in prices continue into the next financial year and beyond, this could eventually have an impact on profitability, and that should the situation deteriorate significantly, the company will assess the market and take appropriate measures."

Also confirmation that Switch 2 hardware is currently sold at a profit: "Furukawa explained that while Nintendo wants to avoid situations where it's selling each unit at a loss, he also doesn't think it should be "overly influenced" by what could be a short-term trend."

All good news.

Sounds like Furukawa is saying that even if it does get to a point where RAM prices get so out of control that Switch 2 starts being sold at a loss, they won’t raise the price and would rather just wait it out and eat the costs until RAM prices eventually get back under control and they can be profitable again - He’s looking at long term outlook (calm) over short term gain (panic).

If that’s truly the case then that’s fantastic news of those who haven’t bought the system yet!

To add: It sounds like Nintendo is really prioritizing selling NS2 hardware at a smaller profit for the first two or three years, according to everything Furukawa said in the investor meeting. So unless things get really bad with chip prices, I do not believe Nintendo will raise hardware prices until 2027 at the earliest. I could see a price hike being pushed until a Lite revision is released.

Also interesting is just how big of a blow Nintendo is taking from strong JP figures over NA/EU figures, since ethe yen is so weak right now.

This’ll be the end of my spamming for today lol. But neat stat I felt was important to share—

Spoiler!
I wonder if the big surprise that King K. Rool is the true villain helped DK Bananza sales.

I'm more inclined to be more positive to the prediction as a certain pattern tends to happen with correctly predicted directs, the rumour of them always drops close to when they happen often one or two weeks before.

And the pattern continues.

Dude spoiler tag.

The game's been out long enough for me to say it.

Spoiler!

Forum rules are no spoilers, not no spoilers unless it's been 8 months. 8 months is not that long of a time considering people have lives and backlogs and may not be able to play everything the moment it releases. And especially since it's still a new system and not everyone has the money to buy it right away. After 8 months, BOTW sold another 15 million copies. Even if DK doesn't have the same legs, a huge number of people who will play it have not yet. Likely only half of the people who will play the game already have.

So, why risk spoiling the surprise for them when in the same amount of time as it took to reply you could have just edited the initial post? Like, why not just do that to avoid potentially diminishing someone else's experience? Seems like a dick move tbh.

Edit: I see you have added the tag. Thank you kindly.

Yeah… that Xenoblade leak could’ve definitely benefitted from a Spoiler tag. Really any leaked art for an unreleased game should be spoiler tagged. But that looks insane!! Wow!!! I’m really hoping this is real.

Edit—Ah, it seems people aren’t convinced by he Xenoblade 4 leak. Not even finding it on ResetEra. Well, that’s refreshing at the very least.
