Furukawa has addressed the ram price situation again, pretty much repeating what he said before, though with a more definitive time frame on when it could be come an issue.

"Furukawa says the recent surge in memory prices didn't significantly impact on its hardware profitability during the third quarter of its financial year (October to December 2025), and he doesn't expect a significant impact in the fourth quarter either.

He noted, however, that should the surge in prices continue into the next financial year and beyond, this could eventually have an impact on profitability, and that should the situation deteriorate significantly, the company will assess the market and take appropriate measures."

Also confirmation that Switch 2 hardware is currently sold at a profit: "Furukawa explained that while Nintendo wants to avoid situations where it's selling each unit at a loss, he also doesn't think it should be "overly influenced" by what could be a short-term trend."

To add: It sounds like Nintendo is really prioritizing selling NS2 hardware at a smaller profit for the first two or three years, according to everything Furukawa said in the investor meeting. So unless things get really bad with chip prices, I do not believe Nintendo will raise hardware prices until 2027 at the earliest. I could see a price hike being pushed until a Lite revision is released.

Also interesting is just how big of a blow Nintendo is taking from strong JP figures over NA/EU figures, since ethe yen is so weak right now.
