Coal needs to go. Its a dying and almost obsolete - not to mention contaminating - industry. Making it grow - however little it may do - is pointless. Those jobs can be saved in so many other ways.

But it's not.  Over 30% of electricity in the US is generated from coal.  Another 30% comes from fossil fuels.

Yes, down from 52.89% that it was just as early as 2000, thats why it is a dying industry. And year after year its steadily declining.

You leave it to stop paying other countries who are doing nothing 100 Billion a year. You seem to think that companies will stop installing solar panels, consumers in general will decide that they don’t want a hybrid or electric car, solar panels for their house etc. It doesn’t work that way. The cost of installing Solar or wind is minuscule in comparison to the overall savings. Companies and people in general understand this. Gas mileage is something that is dependent on price, nothing more. If gas prices were .20 a gallon nobody would care about an electric car or how many miles per gallon it consumed. People will continue to buy LED lights etc. because they save them money, the environment is not in jeopardy because we decided to stop wasting money on other countries when we can’t even figure out how to take care of our own.

The 100 billion dollars you are talking about is a joint effort. Trump talks like america is the only one doing anything, but in the real world the other nations are contributing as well. Here's a link from the UN talking about the 100 billion dollars: http://unfccc.int/cooperation_and_support/financial_mechanism/items/2807.php

You seem to be putting words into my mouth, because I do not "seem to think that companies will stop installing solar panels" and so on. Of course these things will advance as time flies by, and the cheaper and better they get the more use they will see regardless of what policy trump has. However Trump has the ability to speed up this process, because by for example removing coal plants the energy prices will go a bit up, which makes solar panels and other green alternatives more viable and profitable, therefore driving sales. This needs to happen worldwide, but not all countries has the funds to do this, and this is where not only the US but the rest of the developing world has to step up and help the smaller, less fortunate nations out. The environment is already in jeopardy, and Trumps actions isn't helping anyone.

Spoken like a true democrat. Why the fuck should we need to help everyone else by giving them money? How many Solar Panels will 100 billion buy in the US for its citizens? How about we focus on us and let the other countries focus on themselves. Then once all of the big countries like the US, Russia, China etc. have our climate efforts realized, we can assist everyone else and stop throwing money to a worthless cause.

Let the rest of the world spend all their time and money getting renewables down to an affordable cost as well as more efficient. Save your country plenty of money in the mean time by using cheap sources like coal. Then buy the rest of the worlds solar panels and wind turbines once there as cheap or cheaper than coal.

Why let the rest of the world continue to heavily pollute while you and your people spend your hard earned money doing your best to try and go green? The people who will benefit the most from this is the rest of the world.

This is mostly a business decision. It's not great for the environment, but it shouldn't be as bad as some might think. Ever since NA decided to go green, the coal/gas co's broke down and spent a lot of money on clean tech research like coal scrubbers. Some of the tech is pretty impressive, and much less expensive than solar or wind.

This isn't that bad of a move for the states, just as long as they do the right thing and get back into renewables when the time is right.

You forgot something. It's that low because of obama. It will likely double or triple without the restrictions.

I would debate that because the industry is losing ground beyond political reasons, but even if it was .... so WHAT?

Why should a work force the size of nail salon workers be allowed to hold the planet's environment hostage and have such massive sway over global initiatives?

Fuck them and fuck their shit industry that's probably going to give half of them cancer anyway. They have no right.

You can say the same of the asshats trying to dictate how everyone should live. If they want to curb greenhouse emissions, invent a renewable clean energy source or tech that can meet the energy demands of the world at a comparible price to natural sources. That is the most surefire for it to work. Otherwise, stow the complaints if you won't get china to play ball (alot more than they are) in the EU's token gesture to curb emissions.

Anyway, I'm gonna drive around for a bit (a few extra miles) to celebrate and maybe buy some charcoal, some angus beef and whatever else is needed for some cheeseburgers to eat while reading your next "fuck people" reply to this.

By backing out the deal, West Korea is disadvantaged on international trade. Not only that, the DPRA will be far less competitive in the global market for cleaner energy. Even aside from the growing expenses that damage resulting from climate change causes, Beloved Leader's failure to be a leader is going to hurt the economy and taxpayers by proxy---to a much greater extent than the burdens of living up to the agreement. The international community is looking at the DPRA as a rogue nation, and that means the DPRA will be negotiating from a position of weakness on any future agreements, right alongside Syria and Nicaragua. Judging the content of Beloved Leader's speech regarding his latest cock-up in a long, unbroken chain of bad/dumb decisions, he probably didn't even read what was in the Paris Climate Agreement.

It's what America deserves. [2]

I love the environment.

But after his statement and me learning more about it I say screw the Paris agreement.

It did bring us a disadvantage. Find other ways. We should have steppe out. He is right for once.

I don't know anything about the paris agreement. What I do know is that by not agreeing to join it doesn't mean Trump doesn't care or is ignoring it. We as a country are perfecctly capable of making changes to help with climate change without having to join other countries in doing it.

As far as if it's real or not it's clearly real. The temp has fluctuated forever on this planet. At one point in time North America was covered in mile high sheets of ice all of it. We just figured out that the human race is like 12,000 years older than we originally had thought. We are learning so much it's weird to me the people who think we know everything now and we are super smart.

As for the people saying we shouldn't even risk it? Well it's easy to say that maybe where  you live. I live in Houston a large part of our economy depends on oil. When the oil industry is doing bad it effects a lot of other industries as well in and around Houston. When your seeing people lose their jobs, their homes and everything else it's not as easy to say F those people we need to prepare for a situation we know very little about.

Its what Texas deserves then. When you put all your eggs in one basket, that being oil for Texas, you get screwed once that comes to an end. I know how big oil is in Texas, Im from there. That should get people to open their eyes and realize theyre in a dying business. Invest in technology, because thatll last a lot longer than just putting fucking pollutionous rigs in the ground. And if they want to go down with their ship, theyre more than welcome to. But not at the expense of the world.

The US doesn't need to be part of an agreement in order to go into green energy. And based off what I have heard, both India and China wouldn't have to start to reduce emissions till 2030, and could build coal plants till then. The US would also have to provide foreign-aid so as to allow for green energy in developed nations.

Of course, our PM will gladly give billions to other countries while we have inflating debt and a housing bubble that is growing every day. He doesn't give a shit, as long as he looks good. At least Trump cares about America.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Did you see the speech he gave and then research what he said?

It's obvious that most of them didn't and the few that did watch it, didn't bother checking into anything.
