Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Year 1 - Week 52 - Global Switch Sales vs WiiU/XboxOne/3DS/PS4

It hasn't dropped below 200k so far. And with Mario Kart 8 out, I wouldn't be surprised if the Switch stayed above 200k every week. The only month I honestly see it potentially dropping under 200k for a week is May due to no big releases. Otherwise, ARMS and E3 will keep it up for June, and after that there's no way it'll go under. Splatoon 2 in July, MH XX in August for Japan. This thing is beastly.

I think the Switch will start to gradually drop, little by little, to 150k until ARMS releases, where it'll be back above 200k. Then, it'll hold between 170-200k until Splatoon 2 arrives, and it just EXPLODES.

Hope it keeps its momentum through May.

So far, Switch is selling like I was hoping. With Splatoon and Mario (and possibly Pokémon), it's first year will be great.

It managed to stay above 200k with one must have game, I’m pretty sure it will stay there with two.

The difference is that it had JUST launched and Breath of the Wild turned out to be one of the greatest and most highly acclaimed video games EVER. The reason I say it will drop is because Summer is when everything drops. Check out my thread that I have a link to below about the PS4 in 2015 and 2016, it reached those 150kish levels despite having a much larger library than the Switch has now, and 2017 is looking like it'll be no different. It's the Summer Effect.

Switch is selling like crazy!

Thought the comparison with the Wii would be interesting as well so here goes:

Unless the reason Japanese shipments were cut in half is so Nintendo can better meet demand in America.
