Forums - General - Elderly woman assaulted at pool party while everyone is watching & laughing at her

They could have killed the dogs - one of them was really small and could have been injured at the neck as he was tied to her or drowned by being weighed on by her in the pool. The guy throwing her in should get 10 years minimum and anyone laughing/cheering 2 years minimum in federal prison. If the cops had come in and shot them they'd have deserved it - regardless of race. Disgusting.

If you confront people like that, always have a backup gun, knife, or other weapon on hand to be able to immediately kill one of them

Not to defend yourself? Or to threaten them to back off? But just to immediately kill one of them? :O

It is self defense. they threw her in the pool, she should have the right to any violent recourse she chooses.

Well you have to be careful.  In a case where you go onto someone property and kill them if they come towards you without having any lethal weapon, you could still be charged.  Actually the people on the property who owns it could basically do the same thing but in some states they would get off scott free.  When all is said and done, just call the police to handle situations like this as it will probably be the better route and protect you from confrontations that could have you facing time.

When is it self defense.  You are on someone else property.  Do you shoot them before they touch you or just walking towards you.  When does it become self defense to use lethal force.  The question is  if you do not put yourself in a situation like that you do not have to worry if you spend time in jail.  In a situation like this if she comes on the property with any type of weapon, the poeple there would have proable cause to kill her for tresspassing.

Some how clicking on I just knew it wasn't going to be white guys, Koreans, Indians, chinese, Swedish or whoever who did this. Just saying.

So, Swedish people aren't considered white now?

this happens a lot at water parks too.

How many times guys go for a feel and say sorry like its a mistake...

yeah

Are you saying what I think you are? Regardless, saying sorry, most of the time, is just to get off the hook. They are not really sorry in the slightest. But you already knew this, didn't you?

It is, what happens and if you seen 13 reasons why, if a girl does not stand up for herself (she shouldnt have to ideally) she gets even more victimized.

I wouldn't call that assault but still uncalled for.

Are you serious?

I just watched a video of a boy slamming a woman on to a concrete surface (where she hits her head), he then returns to his feet grabs her by the leg and the front of her shirt, and throws her carelessly in to a pool with two dogs.

That's unquestionably assault. Legally,  assault can be as light as verbal slandour coupled with the displays of physical intention of harm, ala raised fists with insults. This is quite a few steps beyond that.

I don't understand the apologists here "oh he was just trying to..." He picked up a woman, fell over, then instead of apologising as the gravity of his mistake sets in, he forcefully, and indecently manhandles her into a pool with her two animals. It's just so utterly reckless and dangerous. He has already tripped once, has not assessed to see if she or the animals are hurt, has no understanding of her ability to swim (given the great display of his character, I can't imagine he was the acting lifeguard immediately after) or of any of her underlying health conditions.

Even if she was completely unscathed, this event will undoubtably be traumatic for her.
