Does docking it scratch the screen?

It's possible but unlikely IMO. There are some great screen protectors to get just to be on the safe side.

It wont if you dock it carefully and look after it.

Not a scratch on mine after a month and a half, and they should be appearing easily since I put a thin plastic screen protective film on it (the one that comes with the official case). I did leave my Switch with my nephew for a month, so I do wonder how the console will be when it returns (hope he is taking good care of it xD)

BTW I saw some light scratches on the demo unit at my MediaMarkt (which you would assume would have heavy abuse), initially I thought it was the screen but it was just the screen protector they put. Like I mentioned before these are prone to scratches, I know from previous experience with screens on DS, mobiles, smartwatches, etc.

Picture was taken on the 16th March, the unit could be under heavier ware now.

I like this modular console; it's nice size, good thermals and snappy as hell. I have had some issues with the joycon range and dpad on the pro, so I need to get those fixed. Also careful with those clingy joycon straps.

You say tomato, I say tomato

Didn't have a problem, even after I knocked the dock over with the Switch in it landing screen side down. Bought a screen protector today anyway just to play it safe seeing as I'm clumsy af apparently.

Could very well be a user problem. I remember my sister ruining her CD's in weeks, while I still have playable ones from high school. I can imagine that if you slide it in somewhat unevenly, it can get scratched, but if it affected everyone, we'd know by now for sure.

You could use light cloth on both sides of the dock so as to not harm the front or back of the console.

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

And that's how you get your Switch scratched. It adds a millimeter or so to the screen and the back of the system will get scratched in the Dock. Not because it's bent, but because the Switch itself is now thicker and the dock is shaped to hold it securely so it doesn't move around and get damaged inside.

Is there really any danger in the back of the Switch getting scratched? Don't see how it's gonna get scratched by a flat surface.

Why you would not immediately put a screen protector on it is beyond me.

My screen is not scratched, nor is my tempered glass screen protector. My cheap plastic screen protector I had on first got a few light scratches though. Cannot speak for unprotected.

In either case, using a tempered glass protector will eliminate any problems that may or may not exist. I can assure you of that.

Got a screen protector since day one, so I cannot confirm this. I don't see any scratches on mine and I just want to know how people actually did manage to scratch it, because I don't see how that can happen.
