The pictures of what I suppose are Scorpio internals look so sleek. Very nice.

I am willing to bet that people are going to whinge, complain and hate if it's anything except Ryzen. Everyone has hyped themselves up for an 8-core Ryzen. Microsoft should have nipped that issue in the butt earlier.

Which is weird... I mean are people actually expecting them to put a $330 CPU and a $300 GPU? And that's not even counting the powersupply, motherboard, cooling, controller, case and etc costs? How expensive are people thinking this is gonna be? $800+?
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850
330$ CPU? Probably more like 200. The 4 core one is 170. A mobile 8 core version would probably cost around 250 for me or u. 200 for Microsoft. But ya I agree it will make the system cost way too much.
I'm thinking 400-500price point with puma and 500-600 with ryzen.
Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)
halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)
x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

If they take the Witcher 3 engine... put in some of that British wit... I think they could have something great.

DONT play with my feelings like that, that would be insane lol. obv not happening but wow lol
PS: if it doesn't have ryzen it will dissapoint people indeed but digital foundry will give a yes or no on true 4k and that will be the biggest deal in the end

And what are the odds of it being a Ryzen? While this is quite beyond me, I have read about it on various forums. The "reasonable" ones all seem to think it is next to impossible for it to by a Ryzen. Something about it needing at least another year? |
Even before Digitial Foundry provided it's thoughts on the CPU uArch that the console *might* use... I have always said that it might be Jaguar or Puma based.
I said the same with the Playstation 4 Pro as well... And before the Xbox One and Playstation 4 specs were revealed, provided my thoughts that they would use something based on AMD's Cat CPU uArch thanks to price.
An 8-core Ryzen is way to big and expensive for a console, so the chances of it being in Scorpio is slim at best in my opinion... This will be one of those scenarios where I will also be stupidly happy to be proven wrong... As I would love for a console manufacturer to take CPU performance seriously for once.
At the moment though... Ryzen 1700 is $445 AUD with the cheapest motherboard being $129.
Jaguar in a quad-core configuration with ITX motherboard and heatsink was $120 back when the Xbox One and Playstation 4 launched.
If it uses an 8-core Ryzen, then Scorpio might just make the Playstation 3 on launch look like a budget console.

Phew, really excited to read up in detail on the Scorpio tomorrow. With what I'm hearing, I'll certainly be getting multiplats on it.

Forza 6 running at 4k with 4k textures and only utilize less than 70% of the gpu. Amazing. Also,I heard the game wasn't optimized as well.
