It'd be funny if he lowered his score to a 6, I mean this is part of his BOTW experience. Lol.

Weapon durability is really not a problem in this game, you get so many powerful weapons that you don't know where to store them. While breaking one weapon, you get 10 new ones and run out of storage space quickly, even if you spent hundreds of seeds to expand your slots.
It is just a feature you need to get used to but maybe they could add an easy mode for casual players that makes all weapons last 10x longer and provide ready to eat food as loot.

Funnily enough, you don't have to pause to change weapons. This is a more common misunderstanding than you would think. |
Do people actually do that? Pause the game to switch weapons? I mean how you quick-change weapons is shown on your screen in the upper left corner.

Well technically the game still pause...
Fucking fanboys. A 7 is still a good game that can be enjoyed. Just enjoy the damn game.

I bet dollars to donuts that if Jim gave this game a 10/10 you wouldn't begin to question his playtime. The fact of the matter is that we don't actually know how much he played this game other than that he sunk an indeterminant amount of time in the days leading up to a 2-3 day period where he sunk the majority of his time. That could still result in 40-50 hours of play time overall. Ironically, Jim could have played the game more than the majority of reviewers that gave the game a 10/10 for all we know. |
exactly! i said it felt like a witcher 3 ripoff but not done right and got accused of not even playing it because of my comparison. lol

So the review came out on the 12th. That means he probably had about 3 days to complete the game (half day 9th, full 10th, 11th, half day 12th, assuming he's writing while he plays). Apparently the average completion time is around 30-35 hours (https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=38019). So if he already had 5 hours into it before the 9th (let's say), and put another 25 in over that 3 days, then would he have "rushed through the game" if he beat it in the average amount of time he take to complete the game? To quote Jim's review: |
You can skip many if not all of those cutscenes. Even the blood moon. I already did.

If you actually read the review you would see that he does discuss his issues with the game, if that deserves a 7 who knows. Don't simply say that he did it for the clicks. |
There's no way to read the entire review now. But I already read part of it. It just sums that he didn't knew how to skip cutscenes, neither that you have a Shrine sensor or those activates as fast travel points, and didn't like stamina and weapom degradation systems because "Dark Souls" and blacksmiths in Hyrule make glass swords.
Have you read it? Do you know any other details? I would love to see if he got more things wrong.

I don't follow this guy at all but the only time I ever hear anything about him is when he gives games lower scores than the general consensus. Not trying to imply anything but..... >_>

Indeed. Also for bows and shields you have to go to the inventory.

Yeah, it can certainly work well depending on how they implement it. I've enjoyed it in some games I've played, like SaGa Frontier 2, while I felt that I would have enjoyed the game more without it in others. I like the sound of being able to take weapons from enemies in Zelda, and throw the ones you've used up. What percentage of enemies in the game carry weapons you can take from them? |
All of them. All weapons. But then you'll face a problem: space to store your weapons.
