Weapon durability is really not a problem in this game, you get so many powerful weapons that you don't know where to store them. While breaking one weapon, you get 10 new ones and run out of storage space quickly, even if you spent hundreds of seeds to expand your slots.
It is just a feature you need to get used to but maybe they could add an easy mode for casual players that makes all weapons last 10x longer and provide ready to eat food as loot.
