False, it would make people buy the Xbox 360/One/PC/Windows 10 version instead so Minecraft will still be alive but not as big as before.

No one is playing 360 anymore. Few people own a One compared to other systems. Because Xbox One and Win10 only games have been working out so well for them right?

"No one is playing 360 anymore" false just false people are still using their 360's also 28.8 million isn't a "few people" there bud.

Proud to be a Californian.

Even if that were to happen, Lego Worlds is just around the corner. I think it will become a serious competitor to Minecraft and might become "the new thing" in that space.

Compared to PS4 android and every other device Minecraft is on 28 million is a fraction of what it's avail on. Hundreds of millions of systems to potentially billions.

Its coming to the Switch........

Pocky Lover Boy!

And destroy the franchise once and for all.

The PS5 Exists.

You state that MS are moving away from Xbox exclusives so why are games like Halo still exclusive to Xbox? Thats not a very good point at all.

As for the OP, i agree that i dont see the reason for MS to release Minecraft on the next PS platform. Clearly the game was contracted to be on PS4 however PS5 and beyond, there is no point with a new generation. They will hold on tight with there game and use to it drive there hardware platofmrs only. Thats my prediction.

As for the Switch version, like the OP states that Nintendo isnt in competition with Xbox and MS. Nintendo seem to have a healthy relationship with MS hence why MS still released Rare games on Gameboy after there purchase. The Switch is also a portable device which will drive Minecraft in the portable market however as for home consoles there really only needs to be one home console. If gamers dont like it, well they have plenty of time to think about there next home console purchase since there not coming out in awhile. I do suggest that if you want to play it safe and are a huge Minecraft fan i suggest getting the console which owns the IP. Than you wont be disapointed.

Halo 5 released before their shift away from Xbox-only titles. It's certainly possible Halo 6 could be Xbox only, we'll have to wait and see, but as it stands every 1st party title since their shift has included Windows 10.

Windows 10 is still a MS platform (Just like the Pro and PS4 or Vita and PS3) God of War released on Vita, does that mean its not exclusive to PS3? You wont see Halo on PS5 and beyond. And i believe Minecraft will follow suit. If Halo released on Steam than thats a different story and i will agree MS are moving away from Xbox Exclusives.

There is nothing wrong with using your franchises to support your own platforms and its smart buisness. Its something i see MS doing to compete with Apple Macs, using there Xbox devision in Windows. Just like Sony did many times with the Vita with PS3 ports to compete with the 3DS.

I feel like Minecraft 2 is going to be a tricky proposition anyways, limiting it to Xbox & PC / Windows would be too big a risk to take.

I think a timed exclusive would work well though.

You seem to be arguing against an imagined version of me :p I know Windows is an MS platform, and i never made any claim as to whether there is anything wrong with them releasing games on Windows 10. I was simply point out the flaw in your statement.

Regardless, Windows 10 and Xbox might both be MS platforms but they aren't the same thing. MS don't market their games as "available on Xbox and Xbox", but as "available on Xbox and Windows 10". MS themselves make the distinction. You yourself seem to acknowledge that's a shift away from 'Xbox-only' titles, else you wouldn't have made a point of using an X1-only game as proof that they're not.

And to answer your question, yes, if i can buy a PS3 exclusive on the Vita then it's by the very definition of the word not a PS3 exclusive.
