Forums - Nintendo - ARMS Looks Cool. Nintendo's Next Franchise?

If Nintendo confirms a story mode I'll be on that day one, looks really fun.

It looks pretty decent, glad there is a non-motion control playstyle :p

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Ok, I'm sorry, I noticed some people saying this, but how the hell does this game remind people of Overwatch?

I get Overwatch has a cartoonish look to it, but it always had a more insustrial, and factory look to it, with the omnics, and dystopian setting and whatnot.

ARMS just looks like a Saturday Morning Cartoon to me, not insulting ARMS' style, but still.

Maybe it'' just my bias towards Overwatch that is making me talk...

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Definitely looks interesting. I'm not so much into the motion controls though.  Is there a non motion control mode?  Keeping your hands up for a long time is tiring so this is kind of a short play session game.

I'm REALLY hyped for ARMS but my only concern are the controls, for a game that supposedly wants to become an e-sport you really want to have regular controls, I think it could also be done easily...

I'm pretty sure they mentioned there is in the Treehouse live segment

I remember I first saw Splatoon, I liked it, but I thought it was kinda meh. The second I saw full gameplay I knew I was wrong.

The Moment I saw this game I immediately fell in love. This is going to be an excellent game. I always loved motion controls and I love that instead of leaning back on it, they doubled down on it. This is a must have for me for so many reasons.

When I saw this

all  I could think of was this

I hope so. ARMS looks like a lot of fun.

Gives me a lot of the same vibes when I first saw Splatoon. On how I thought it looked pretty good but nothing special and will do okay sales and hope there is more to the game. Then Splatoon came out and smashed all of those expectations and is now a important franchise to Nintendo and my second favorite game on the Wii U. So I hope Arms also smashes my expectations as well and will probably keep an eye on it and will likely pick it up it when I get a Switch at some point later this year.

As long as the content is there, and Nintendo plays their cards right, I think this could turn out well for them...
I feel like there's a legit possibility they will do with this game what they did with Splatoon, meaning they will release updates that expand the game's content...

I see whatyou did there ;)

Because people need somethin that they can use as a measure. Before Overwatch, everything was brown and grey and no fun was allowed just pew pew, so every other game needed to have that too, or else it wasn't good, period. Now Overwatch is a big thing and suddenly people compare everything that looks slightly a little cartoony to Overwatch. But actually, Nintendo games made this style popular and I believe Overwatch looks the way it looks just because of Splatoon, but that's just me.
