Half Dutch half German background. I'm 6ft2, younger brother is 6ft3, dad is 6ft0, mom 5ft4, and my aunts, uncles and 40ish first cousins, are all between 5ft2 and 5ft11, mostly shorter though.

I really don't care all that much now. When I was in my teens I felt pride just because everyone was always saying "wow your so tall" like I was special, but I didn't ever hold it over people or think I was better than them because of it.

Sometimes it can be a benefit, sometimes a hindrance. Don't believe all the things you hear though. Very few times has it been the key factor in meeting/picking up a woman for me, in comparison to my shorter friends, who usually do better with chicks. When it comes to sports, its mostly an advantage in almost every way, except for a few things like balance. Some cars you see better in, some you look at the floor because you have to bow to fit.

Anyone who feels like a lesser individual because their short, you really shouldn't, honestly. Just imagine being the tall guy in the trenches during the world wars. Not only are you a prime target while in the trench, but you were also naturally one of the first ones to jump straight out, and charge into battle...

Its all about the angle you look at it, mentally, not physically.

Cute

I liked having advantage and when being able to use it in basketball when I was playing it, but in everyday life height makes no difference, except when the shorter people have Napoleon complex.

...this sounds questionable.

Hmm, pie.

191cm here. I hardly see people taller than I here.
I don't think ill of people who are shorter than me, but I tend to see them all as "short", and can't tell the size difference between two women for example, to me they are all "child size". I do joke a lot about that tho.

I'm just reading everyone's comments and I'm wondering what everyone thinks is short and what they think is tall. Because from my experience, everyone has different opinions on what tall and short is to them.

Short is relative based on not only your perception but what is standard in your country. A short person in Norway is like 5'9" or below probably, while China is' probably 5'4" or below. For men anyway.

I'm short for UK standards, don't really notice anything though related to the subject but I do have an strange dislike for groups of men that are all tall together... it's weird.

Hmm, pie.

I am 6'4". So taller than a vast majority, but not the tallest guy around.

Shorter to me is not relative. For instance if someone is 6'1" they are still pretty tall, so it is not like I think much of the fact I am taller than them. Even like 5'9" does not registrar, I don't think of their height, I guess because that is within the "normal" range.

Only time I think about is when it is kinda extreme. Like a guy 5'4" or so and under, sadly race does factor into this whether that is a good thing or not. I will notice it more if it is a Black or Caucasian man but not as much if it is another race, this is probably because average heights are higher for those 2 races than others.

So lets say it is a 5'2" white male. I will think to myself "wow" he is short. Most really short guys I know are pretty buff, it is not just a stereotype there. But I think that is cool. They can't make themselves taller, but they can help of they take care of themselves.

It is only ever an issue if one of them is an asshole. I then just assume they have Napoleon syndrome or something.
