I am 6'4". So taller than a vast majority, but not the tallest guy around.
Shorter to me is not relative. For instance if someone is 6'1" they are still pretty tall, so it is not like I think much of the fact I am taller than them. Even like 5'9" does not registrar, I don't think of their height, I guess because that is within the "normal" range.
Only time I think about is when it is kinda extreme. Like a guy 5'4" or so and under, sadly race does factor into this whether that is a good thing or not. I will notice it more if it is a Black or Caucasian man but not as much if it is another race, this is probably because average heights are higher for those 2 races than others.
So lets say it is a 5'2" white male. I will think to myself "wow" he is short. Most really short guys I know are pretty buff, it is not just a stereotype there. But I think that is cool. They can't make themselves taller, but they can help of they take care of themselves.
It is only ever an issue if one of them is an asshole. I then just assume they have Napoleon syndrome or something.
