For the last several years I've been keeping track of the games I've finished during any particular year, and I though it would be interesting to see how my games stack up against other people's similar lists. In 2016 I actually finished more games than during any other year since 2011.

Over the course of the last 12 months I played through 26 different games, on five different platforms. For comparison, in 2011 I finished just 16 games, in 2012 13, in 2013 14, in 2014 19, and in 2015 20. So 2016 was actually quite a good year for playing games for me. For me, 2016 was a year of playing  through my huge backlog of games. Most of the games on the list are ones I have owned for a long time, but which I've never gotten around to before. PS3 still remained my most played platform by far, followed closely by PC. I didn't get a PS4 until the very end of the year, and both my PSP and 360 have been sitting unused for quite some time now, although I still have a few games I need to play on them at some point, like Lost Odyssey on the 360.

Of course, there were a lot of other games I played as well, but didn't finish last year, like Tales of Xillia 2 and Final Fantasy XV, which I am currently playing.

This was the first year for me when I played a lot of online (gta5, rocket league, dirt 2, dirt 3) so the list of finished games is shorter than usual, also I hunted for PS3 trophies a lot too.

I played more games than usual this year. Got a sick projector so have been replaying all my favorite games on a 114" screen in a relatively well treated home theatre experience.

Jesus some people have an awful lot more time for gaming that I manage to squeeze out, also I tend to stack the odds against me starting multiple rpgs or so at the same time often getting lost by the mid point in all of them, currently mid way into World of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy Adventures on the Vita.

I noticed that too. The fact that I actually managed to finish 26 games this year is practically unprecedented, and even that number is the result of me playing a lot of very short games like Limbo and Leo's Fortune. Seeing lists with over 40 or 50 games just reminds me that I will likely never be able to reach those kinds of numbers.
