Playstation gets full third party support. Just because someone is a Playstation fan that doesn't mean he's also a Sony fan. I know a lot of guys who own a PS4 that aren't interested in any of Sony's games.

Nintendo's consoles are mostly supported by themselves or Japanese third party studios who make similar games.

Nintendo fans buy a wide varriety of games actually:

Anime: Fire Emblem, Pokémon, Kid Icarus Uprising

Shooting: Splatoon, Metroid, Kid Icarus Uprising, Star Fox, Sin and Punishment

Fighting: Super Smash Bros., Pokkén Tournament (outsold Street Fighter V ;))

Roleplay: Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, Earthbound/Mother, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, Xenoblade

Playstation is still more diverse.

That's fine if you think that, but not everyone thinks that.

(Just wanted to add under bolded)

This thread is so true, I completely agree with you on any point!
Diversity is the reason why Playstation is the best place to play!!!

"Nintendo games" is certainly not a genre. Mario is different from Xenoblade, Zelda from Splatoon, Kirby from Eternal Darkness, Pokemon from Animal's Crossing, etc..

" the PS4 players have the most diverse tastes and interests in different genres. PS4 players seem to embrace nearly all genres"

bullshit with zero facts to back up.

PS4 line up is more diverse due to Japanese gamers. That doesn't mean that American or European PS4 owners (aka the vast majority of PS4 owners) have a more diverse taste in games nor does it mean that Japanese gamers have a diverse taste in games as they also have strong preferences towards only a few genres.
The Xbox and PS4 have the same demographic outside of Japan as proven already in this thread (software sales).
You use a minority to make this generalization.

But whatever makes you feel superior lol. It's the same PC master race bullshit.

There's no doubt that PlayStation and Sony in general has good diversity, however Nintendo systems have a ton of diversity in their library as well...

I don't think Ninty has anything that can be compared to Journey, Heavy Rain, Flower, Beyond, Until Dawn, Infamous, Gravity Rush, Bloodborne, and Uncharted/The Last of Us. Don't forget all the RPGS and other Japanese games released on ps4 and not on Wiiu or most ninty home consoles.

On the contrary I believe PS fans, from what I've seen in formus at least, are the most narrow minded.

PS has more diverse library than Xbox simply due to the fact the XB brand never managed to establish in japan so they don't get some of the more eastern oriented 3rd party titles.

I felt this way back in the PS1 and PS2 era... diversity speaking that is... but PS4 is now just a different kind of same. I don't let my 11 year old daughter play violent games and the PS4 is not that good at anything but. When she was little, her favorite consoles were PS1 and PS2 because they had Sly, Crash, Spyro, Ratchet type of games. She loves the mascot stuff.

Nintendo is the king of family fun now for us. You now have to own both Nintendo and Sony consoles if you want to get the same thing you use to get from PS2.

"Ps4 players have the most diverse taste"

That's why out of the top 10 best selling games on the system there are 4 online shooters and 3 football games, lol

So damn freaking diverse.

Most people buy a Ps4 for Fifa and Cod, because that's the console their friends have to play those games, as simple as that.

Well Ratchet is still here, Crash is coming back (supposedly next year) and the last Sly Cooper game was just over three years ago so it's definitely not improbable we'll get one on the ps4 at some point.

But yeah it's not as strong as it used to be back in the day, and that goes for the industry as a whole really. Glad we're getting Yooka-Laylee, I really miss those types of games.
