According to rumors, its a tablet with detachable controllers and a 720p screen. Nintendo can call it whatever they want, but a consumer is going to see a Nintendo branded 720p tablet.

According to rumours its handheld with detachable controllers and "base unit", hybrid of home console and handheld, its not just Nintendo 720p tablet and nobady will call it like that becuse it not point about tablet at all, it will call it handheld/console hybrid.

Yes. A handheld tablet. A tablet you can plug into the tablet dock to play your games on the TV.

I sincerely doubt that people will be calling it a hybrid. Your average consumer is going to call it a tablet if they don't call it by name. The only way they call it a hybrid is if Nintendo names it the Nintendo Hybrid.

Offcourse they will called it by name, but that name will represent console/handheld hybrid not Nintendo tablet, lol.

Of Course you doubt, your posts show how much you are unrealistic and uninformed about Nintendo, market, marketing, pricing and NX. Most of your points doesnt make any sense, including OP.

I don't think so. I've owned every Nintendo console and handheld. I've owned hundreds of Nintendo games and have kept up with pretty much all rumors about NX and am aware of Nintendo pricing strategies and tactics. I just don't think that the standard Nintendo underpowered and overpriced strategy they've employed for years will work anymore.

You can call me many things, but uninformed probably isn't one of them.

Under what logic though looking at the past what you've suggested isn't going to work in any shape of form, you don't even know what NX is or the execution it will utilize for a start, it reminds me of before the Wii launched tbh.

The NX launch is supposed to be 5 months from now.

Supposed by who? Launch a console on March? What for?

Hey some people speculate it is a portable kids thing, yeah it might be on March

Its not about understanding.

Its about reaching the masses. Chance & repeative exposure.

You can't run a AD for 1minuet, and have everyone on the planet all look at the same thing at the same time, and go "yep its done, message is accross".

You run a AD for 1 minuet, 99% of the world will probably miss it.

Even if you played it on every tv channel & website in the world.

Chances are some people are asleep, some are at work, some arnt watching tv but reading a book or something else instead.

Time is a critical element, the longer you market something the higher the chances the "right" types of people notice it.

The more times they are shown this ad, the more time they spend thinking "should I get one of these".

That is why marketing takes time, and always will.

"Does it really need 4-5 months? If Nintendo released just one single article with all details inside, wouldn't that be enough?"

Yes it really does need 5months or so, to be most effective.

If nintendo just released one single article with all the details inside, that would be dumb of them.

You want to sell a product, you need to make sure people know your trying to sell them something.

Best way to do that, is to repeatively talk about it.

Yeah, okay. Makes sense. Haven't thought long enough about it before I sartetd typing.

Your comments about marketing, your point than NX will be affected by power of PS4Pro/Scorpio and possible pricing for NX and proves you are uninformed and unrealistic.

I'm afraid your theory that Nintendo is afraid is a frayed idea.

I see what you did there.

March is such a terrible launch period. Sept-Nov is where its at. Consumers are at their poorest in most major regions. They've got debt on their credit cards because of Christmas then they make it even worse with the January sales and then with all that debt Nintendo release their NX. On the back of the huge failure of the wii u and with huge debts I think many will play the waiting game however good. So launch numbers are going to be much lower than they could have been and then that negativity hits the press to make things worse.

Nintendo are announcing it late too so product awareness is going to be much reduced.

Given a choice between Nintendo worried about the announcement or the NX having some amazing feature that they wanted to keep to themselves I think worried about the announcement is more logical. It's not like any competitor could see what Nintendo has announced now and beat it to market before March with a similar product. I think poker wise its a bluff and Nintendo may not have anything.

No one knows what NX is. Just Nintendo and a few devs. Did you notice how I bought up all the rumors, treated them as fact, and everyone just accepted them? This is the first post that brings up the vital point that  no one really knows. Kudos.

As for my logic behind it, I stand by it. Pro and Scorpio are unprecedented. Every other Nintendo machine has usually had a year head start from reveal to launch. This machine will buck that trend by a significant amount. Its very unusual for a Nintendo launch. My opinion is that Nintendo isn't sure NX will be a success and their actions reflect that.

As for the execution, everything is speculation. Along with its marketing, its hardware, and its first party games. Your guess is as good as mine unless you are secretly a Nintendo insider.
