Forums - Sales Discussion - June 2016 NPD Results

Lol. Of course Uncharted 4 didn't do that well in June...it came out in MAY.

Even after some amazing titles, ps4 sale still is getting the same number. That's quite worrisome. Is there a comparison chart with prev gen?

Thanks for all the data Aqua. If you can, what are the sales numbers for Halo 5 and Bloodborne.
The gap was pretty close this for june. The July results should be interesting.

What games do you guys want to get an idea about in terms of sales?

If possible, Xenoblade Chronicles X LTD sales.

Thank you very much for the data as always, by the way.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

:-O

Thanks Aqua for posting that chart and the data.

I'm see some real data on all of it.

...Well, Uncharted didn't fare nearly as well.

Uncharted is 160K-190K including bundles.....sorry guys. Uncharted games never light up the NPD charts...they're a worldwide IP.

Hmmm... quite a disappointing result for those Uncharted fans (not me), looks like I predicted correctly about the legs. It's to be expected though; heavily-marketed AAA sequels don't usually have particularly strong legs.

I can see that people can't be bothered with you anymore but fuck it, I'll give you ONE response.

So now you think it's ok to quote and cherry picked section to make your opinion look better. The first sentence from Aqua is in reference to Overwatch insane legs. Then you decide to leave out the part which Aqua says about Uncharted having alright legs so I'll add that.

"But on the plus side, Uncharted is still on a good place on the Top 10 this month, along with Doom. Their legs didn't just evaporate the instant their launch month was over, which is always a good sign."

Why are you claiming it's a disappointment for Uncharted fans? You desparately want this to fail so you will make of the facts what you will. 880k launch month down to 180k second month isn't bad. If you expected less of a drop then it's you that is putting higher expectations on it, not "Uncharted fans".

So now can you stop making things up or just shut up with the desparate shitty behavior.

Moving on!

So what are we looking at for Uncharted in terms of US and Global. So we know it was 2.7M first week so physical for first week should be about 2M is we say 25% digital attach rate. For the month 2.5M WW so can we assume that the split is 900k US/ 1.6M ROW (using the NPD May Unharted sales as a guide)?

So 180k NPD June is 20% of May. Applying the same split ROW should of had 360k second month. Now lets add it all up we are lloking at 3,040,000 physical WW by the end of June. Add in the 25% digital and we have over 4M. If you are disappointed with that then your expectations were a little to high. Especially when you consider these are 2 slow months.

There are many small titles whose numbers interest me, like Odin Sphere, Grand Kingdom, Zero Escape TD..

So Amazon still lived up to their reputation on predicting 1st place.

Amazon won't be predicting anything anymore if they don't fix their monthly & weekly bestsellers charts. They've been borked since the 5th. Ten days and no updates.

They are taking their 4th July holiday very far.

Ok I'll bite.

Has it occured to you that that "same number" PS4 gets remains the same due to the amazing titles you speak of? And that it would be significantly less if it didn't have said amazing titles at all?

Has it also occurred to you that unlike the XB1, there are practically no deals ever on for the PS4? Or that the PS4 still cost $350 (only $50 less than what it launched at) almost 3yrs from its launch?

If you think it currently being almost $80 more expensive than its closest rival or for the most part of the year selling more than 100k than said rival in NA and completely decimating it everywhere else is troubling then I don't know what to say to you.

Now imagine how it's sales would have been if it cost $269 or even $250......

You're going to need to concern troll harder than that. June is a slow month, last June was Batman, and PS4 is effectively $100+ more expensive than Xbox One.
