Forums - Gaming Discussion - Games you didn't enjoy but coudn't stop playing

Ever happened to you?

You are not enjoying the game but still you decide to go forward and finish the game anyways and the idea of leaving the game to the extent you played it seems like not an option.

What game or games can you name?

Why didn't you enjoy them?

But most importantly: why did you keep playing them?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Deadly Premonition. The gameplay is simple, dull, and frankly, not fun, but the story is so quirky and interesting that I had to see it through to the end.

Bioware games. Their fine but I personally feel like their gameplay mediocre and unbalanced, however, I still find their characters and stories interesting.

Watch dogs
It s redundant, boring sometimes, but it feels like a promising franchise

Edit : and to be totaly frank the data protection background is realy important nowadays

Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's

Dragon's Dogma is a game I spent a significant amount of time with and didn't enjoy it. I just wanted to finish it for some reason.

Assassins creed games. After 2 (not countig 4 wich was quite fun) the series went downhill but i somehow end up coming back. I bought unity fully aware of its shittyness, after promising i wouldnt ever. It was boring and uninspired as hell, but i even managed to get all the achievements.

I guess i just like the historian shenanigans and the "climb whatever you see" mechanic so much, i keep fooling myself and buying them.

Also RE6. The game is a piece of stinking shit but i keep coming back for mercenaries.

Also Silent Hill Origins and Downpour. They're both guilty pleasures to me. I know they're very shoddy atempts of a Silent Hill game, but i cant stop loving them.

Every game I don't enjoy. Once I start I game I need to finish it, no matter how bad.

I was a huge fan of Assassin's Creed (mostly because of 2) and even though I felt like playing the same game I enjoyed 1, 2, Brotherhood and Revelation immensely.

AC3 completely killed that and I haven't played any AC games since. Some friends enjoyed Syndicate and I think if I manage to just finish AC3's main story I'll be able to justify buying Syndicate.

But I haven't been able to even though I've tried giving it another shot 4-5 times. How did you complete that game? Please, I'm desperate for advice XD

Is the rest of the game better than the first hour? (just say yes even if it's not)

You make a lot of threads that don't include your own opinion lol

Anyway, I find the line of thinking here rather flawed. If you keep coming back for something, then you must like it, at least on some level. I mean why keep playing something you don't enjoy? It's not like you don't have options. I understand it if you're younger I suppose. When you're a kid (or in your early teens) buying limited amounts of games off whatever allowance your parents give you, it makes sense that you try to get everything you can out of a game, even if you dont really care for it much. But beyond that....if you're a grown man/woman, with any kind of income.....why waste your time with a game you don't like?
