Before app stores and Steam Greenlight, I remember some knockoffs of the 6th gen. Pirates of the Caribbean ripping off Return of the King's gameplay for one, and I think there was a Ghostrider game cloning God of War before the likes of Dante's Inferno or the Conan action game. Nobody does it like China, though:

Dante's Inferno is basically God of War, but instead of going to Olympus, you go to Hell. And I guess unlike Kratos' family, there is the hope of rescuing your wife alive, but that's pretty much where the differences end.
