Do u really think is gonna be that easy for Sony to change the spec of neo ? If they are already in production of neo no chance they can change the spec

If the "board" unit and the chip are already made, no they cant make changes to it.

But they can overclock it, and put a bigger heat sink on it.

Maybe squeeze out abit more performance so its closer to the scorpio.

That wouldnt require that much work.

I think Sony will just accept that its slightly weaker than the scorpio, and sell it cheaper than the scorpio.

Sony will get you to buy one, by haveing a awesome games library for the PS4.

The 4.3 tflops leak, if accurate was as of March... if the neo doesnt launch till holiday 2017 that's a year and a half to make any modifications since then and still be in time to mass produce for holiday launch. They've got plenty of time to make changes, the question is if they want to and if they should.

I'd be very surprised if Scorpio launches under $499. If neo is a 4.3 tflops console it'll definitely have a big price advantage.

Though honestly I think Scorpio and Neo will be almost identical in power.

I don't know where people get the idea that the specifications of a console can simply be modified on the fly with release approaching.

Sony has a comfortable lead and won't be relinquishing it, but that doesn't mean Microsoft can't cut into it as time goes on.

Things never change until they do, this type of rhetoric reminds of the types of discussion around the start of Gen 7

Have you never tried to overclock a CPU or GPU on a PC?

Same thing there, even if the "chip" and board are made already.

All you have to do is just put a bigger cooling unit on it, and overclock it.

This doesnt require any changes to the SoC or chip.

Microsoft did the same thing with the Xbox One, when they found out their unit was weaker.

However they didnt change the cooling system, so instead they just did a tiny overclock, and accepted it would be abit more noisy.

Neo is still far enough away that you can make changes to clock speeds, and not have it effect the end product in a negative way.

I hope its not true, i dont want to wait 1.5 years for the Neo. These consoles are allready too weak

Also it would mean that many games wont get patches or much much more delayed. Its better to release the Neo this year and have a 1 year updates advantage over MS and a PS5 in the drawingboard

Nope. Their only target audience right now is people who already own an Xbox. Not that they have to win though.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

^ this.

1 year headstart + price advantage = win.

People wont care that scorpio is between 1 upto 1.5 teraflops faster.

I'm perfectly aware of overclocking. That's hardly a drastic increase, as I think the Xbox1 itself should be evidence of.

Let Microsoft have the graphics. Song has already beaten them. They don't need to resort to a useless contest with Microsoft. That's the only place where Microsoft can truly try to threaten them because their first party isnt threatening neither Sony or Nintendo.

Lest we forget, Microsoft is the only one now who cannot use the exclusives card as a reason to get their console to PC gamers. PC gamers will now become more attracted to games they cannot attain if quality resides in those other consoles.
