Are you suggesting that I was derailing the conversation with my direct reply to your attack of "this thing" lol? It's fine to not like a system, but if you bring a discussion off track, don't try the defense of how the discussion is going off track, like I said your post had nothing to do with 3ds games, even in terms of Nintendo handhelds it was mostly regarding how there would be a successor to the 3ds and not the Vita. At least my comparison included the console in question in this thread, yours did not.

Also what does Sony not developing games for the Vita have to do with the 3ds or games recommendation for it? or... just want to try to get a cheap dig in but then point out how this should be a 3ds thread? I see. I'll drop out of this back and forth though just felt the need to point out that I was just responding to derailment, not doing it.

I responded to another PSV owner that in a 3DS games recomendation thread felt the need to demonstrate his disappreciation for the very system the topic is about. Things like "return the 3ds" and buy a PSV instead and how bad the 3DS is in a thread about 3DS software, just shows how much some really want attention for their system of choice, willfully ignoring how off topic and inflammatory they act. It´s very telling that you had absolutely no problems with this kind of bs, even worse you felt the need to elaborate on this nonsense. People shitposting in most 3DS threads and at the same time still to this day telling how superior the PSV is in unrelated threads, shouldn´t be surprised if they get served some reality check in regards to the actual situation of the PSV or about Nintendos and Sonys handheld business in the near future. Thanks to Sonys disinterest I can´t even say that it isn´t well deserved.

I stated earlier that I would buy a Wii U, but Nintendo has forced me to once again skip another generation of their home consoles and question the validity of another console generation to come. I decided to invest in the 3DS to catch up on some old classics. I picked up New Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time since I never finished that Zelda as a child. Any suggestions on other games? Im into RPG's and platformers where it concerns Nintendo. Since the DS is also the only Nintendo platform that gets adequate third party support, let me know third parties as well.

Haven't you played Wii?

In this case, I recommend you to get a Wii U. You can play all Wii games and the Wii U library is basically finished and the console is over, so you can now find many great deals. There's a decade of great games to play on Wii U.

Kid icarus. You seriously need to get this.

Animal crossing new leaf
Pokemon main series
Pokemon super mystery dungeon
Professor Layton trilogy
Ace attorney VS professor Layton
Legend of zelda: link between world's
Smash Bros 4
Super Mario 3d land
Theater rhythm final Fantasy
Shovel knight
Binding of Isaac
Starfox 64
Xenoblade 3d
Mario kart 7
Donkey Kong country returns 3d

More games, but thats a good list to start with

Kid Icarus is spectacular, but it's not for everyone, some people hate the gamplay and controls.

Awesome! Sounds great! Kid Icarus? Hell yes!

You've made a great decision getting the 3ds. I wish I skipped the wii u and got the ps4. Either way, the 3ds keeps me satisfied. It's easily the best handheld made. Add in the fact you can play DS games(which you can get for dirt cheap prices), and you have a legendary device

Me too, as a early adopter, yes.

God bless You.

Couldn't I just get the Wii and Wii U games on the NX console if the library is good enough?

I don't know if NX will have backwards compatibilty.

Sell it again and wait for NX. 3DS is dead.

I highly doubt the NX will have double level backwards compatibility.

The Wii U right now gives you access to...

Twilight Princess (with a superior HD version)
Wind Waker HD
Smash 4
Mario Kart 8 with two exceptional DLC packs (the current standard bundle comes MK8 and both DLC packs)
Splatoon
Super Mario 3D World
Mario Maker
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
Pokken Tournament
Wonderful 101
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Xenoblade Chronicles (the Wii version is the definite superior one)
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
The Last Story
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Kirby's Return to Dreamland
Metroid Prime Trilogy (you can get it digitally on Wii U for $20 and is one of the best coor games on the Wii and my personal favorite use of motion controls to create a superior experience)
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Just to name some of the big, exclusive highlights that come to mind :P

And that's not to even speak of the exclusive or console exclusive indie darlings like FAST Racing Neo, Runbow, Affordable Space Adventures, and Freedom Planet.

I mean, I'm not saying you should absolutely buy one but don't doubt the value potential if you skipped the Wii.  Some of the most acclaimed games and  definitely the most acclaimed exclusives of the last gen and this gen are on the system.

You've gotten plenty of great ideas on the 3DS already, but I'd like to advise that you reconsider on the Wii U just as others here have done. As a person who is also active on the PS4 and the PC, I still was not disappointed with the Wii U when compared directly with them. In fact, I think it's been the most fun and unique experience of the three.

It all comes down to preferences, but if you think you might like the games I'd urge you to just find some refurbished Wii U for fairly little and give it a go!

Mario Kart 7
Sonic Generations
Sonic Lost World
Mario 3D World
Kirby Triple Deluxe
Yoshi's New Island
Mario and Luigi Dream Team
Fire Emblem (Awakening, both Fates)
Conception II
Rune Factory 4
Puzzle and Dragons Z
Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate
Project X Zone (and 2)
Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
DK Country Returns
Kid Icarus Uprising
Bravely Default
Pokemon
Smash Bros.
Majora's Mask 3D
Triforce Heroes
A Link Between Worlds
Hyrule Warriors Legends
Ocarina of Time 3D
Fantasy Life

These are some of the games I've had a blast playing and would recommend them to any new 3DS owner.

Exactly.

Those games + all the Wii gems since Wii U runs Wii games. So if someone skipped Wii, I think getting a Wii U now is a great deal to have access to lots of great games.
