Definitely agree. Borrowed a friends PS4 and even brought the copy of UC4 myself and its very disappointing.

I didn't expect so many boring mission in the first half of the game which is a shame because the locations are very nice and the writing is fantastic, but its the gameplay thats so dull and your talking about over 6 hours of this stuff. Its a complete waste of otherwise great locations and enjoyable story. Worst of all, where are the fucking setpieces. Uncharted 2 was mindblowing in this department. I'm 1/4 or 1/3 through ad haven't seen shit.

It starts to pick up on the Avery cathedral mission, but so far, there is nothing here that you can't do in ROTR. ROTR isn't perfect, but for me, the gameplay, exploration and even setpieces are way better than Uncharted 4 from what I've played. The jeep mission looks fun though, can't wait to get to that section but something tells me the remainder of the mission will be a chore till then.

Man, I know I'm going to be hated but a really think that RotTR is the better game, more depth on the gameplay and design, I was playing tomb raider on PC so will look better, obviously, so i'm not going to compare that area. On Rise of the tomb raider I have more motivation to find the collectables and to explore the levels. Uncharted has a better actors and the story telling is better but both are enjoyable in different ways. I think that RotTR is a better game for my taste and it's not getting the attention because was on xbox one first, a big mistake to be honest because on Playstation, gamers would have more respect for the game, reasons? 40 million playstations out there and the franchise was part of Playstation.

Don't get me wrong I'm not downplaying Uncharted 4, it's a "Uncharted 9.2/10 and Rise of the tomb raider 9.6/10" scenario. I'm just saying that a lot of people don't know how good that game really is, but hey, life is not fair.

Rofl.

I doubt you even have a ps4.

Joke of threads.

I think your problem is that you were expecting Uncharted 2 (which ROTR was looking to emulate) and a franchise that no longer cares anymore and is trying to move on. They want to put the story to rest in the best way possible and this is where they succeed where other sequel based franchises fail. They focused on closure. They aged Drake so they could retire him. Tomb Raider will never be aged because Square cannot survive without star players. Sony can afford to drop drake.

Didn't know Rise of the Tomb Raider was on PC. I'll have to get it today. Who knows when I'll have time to beat it. Barely played UC4's story. Mostly on the multi-player. But, I do like what I've played so far, and think it's at least better than UC3. Hope tomb raider is good too. I'll check reviews first to be safe.

Uncharted is much better than Rise of the Tomb Raider.

I bought Uncharted 4 and i like it a lot, I just think that the other is better and it's not getting the same attention cause it's not on playstation. I'm going to be hated cause it's not a popular opinion, and if you say that something is better than a ND game some fans can be to passionated with their responses, although so far everything seems polite. Minus the guy who said that women like tomb raider more, making this a gender thing...

Nahhh I don't think anyone will be hating on you as long as you are not irrationally disliking UC4. I am personally getting frustrated with people feeling UC has to be wall to wall shooting and hating on any deviation of pace or tonality. If you like TR more, that is totally fine!

No game is perfect and different things mean more or less to different people... obviously the focus of TR spoke to your preferences. It is good that there is variety to serve the tastes out there.

Yes this, it's ok to have a fair opinion. Some people just think they are achieving something by either downplaying sales or the quality of the game. Legit and fair opinions are welcome.

I'm on chapter 17 of Uncharted 4 and, of course, I've championed RotTR in the past.

Uncharted 4 wins in graphics, characters, story, and variety of environments. It has some sweet variety in gameplay types , too. Surprisingly better swimming in Uncharted, too!

Tomb Raider wins in exploration, puzzles, character progression and customization

Gunplay, set pieces, are pretty much a tie to me. Tomb Raider has more ways to dispatch an enemy but Uncharteds scenes are so frenetic and fun. Tomb Raider's foes seem more like people and Uncharteds seem more like cannon fodder.

Uncharted has lots of moments where you're just walking and talking. These moments build the story but once you've seen them, you've seen them. Tomb Raider pretty much always gives you something to do but the story isn't very engrossing (sadly).

It really could go either way depending on the mood. I'm happy to have played both. I think people coming into RotTR after playing Uncharted will be disappointed because of the lack of emotional impact and weaker graphics. People playing RoTR first will miss the upgradeable skills and ingenious puzzles. Both are excellent but I'd give the nod to Uncharted at this point.

I still have a few chapters to go in U 4, though.

A well written opinion!

Uncharted 4 can be beat under 6 hrs.

UC4 is the better wannabe movie, RotTR is the better game.

Aside from the campaign, which is surely the meat of the game, why nobody talks about Uncharted's great multiplayer? This is a huge point for Uncharted compared to Tomb Raider, since the latter doesn't even have one.
